25.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all from KCC - enjoy your day on Sunday!

24.01.2022 The students are making rain gauges during next week's science lesson (Wed 2nd of Sep). They will need one empty soft drink bottle. If you don't have one on hand a jar or something similar will be fine to use instead. Thanks for your assistance, Melissa Hudson.

21.01.2022 Dear Parents, As you may be aware there are changes to the start date of Term 4. Now, all students will return to on-site learning from the first day of Term 4, Monday 5th October. ... This is exciting and our teachers cannot wait to greet your child on the first day back. I would like parents to be mindful that the teachers may not be as responsive on Seesaw over the next 2 days as normal, as they will be preparing for the start of Term 4. However the expectation will be for students to finish this remote and flexible learning period strongly by completing all their work on Seesaw. I will also provide more information on Friday regarding changes to how we will do things next term. Thank you to our parents who have been amazing during this crazy time. We have planned something special for all our wonderful parents in Term 4 to say a big Thank You! Stay tuned, more information to come! Regards Mr. B

18.01.2022 Keeping an eye on our student’s mental well-being is a priority during remote learning. A free parenting program aimed at helping to protect children’s long-term wellbeing during Covid-19 restrictions has been launched by the Victorian Government. The program designed by the International Triple P Positive Parenting Program network is available online to give expert advice and strategies for parents and carers to help navigate the stresses of the pandemic. Without support w...e will see a huge spike in stress, anxiety and depression that will stay with families long after the health crisis is over. Help for all sorts of issues are covered for example tantrums, sleep problems through to increasing resilience, building stronger relationships and negotiating boundaries. Information is divided into Toddlers - Tweens and Pre-teens - Teens. Parents & carers of children from 0-16 years can access Triple P online at www.triplep.online/victoria See more

15.01.2022 Dear Parents, Following the announcement from the Premier yesterday regarding a road map forward, I thought I would provide you with a quick update regarding returning to school in Term 4. The latest information is from the Department of Education is: From the 5 9 October (first week of Term 4), Remote and Flexible Learning will continue for all students, except in specialist schools in rural and regional Victoria. All students (from Prep to Year 12) return to full-time on-...site schooling by Friday 16 October. Schools can stagger the return of different year levels as appropriate during this week. This decision can be made by individual schools or networks/clusters of schools. We will be holding lots of discussions around this information and will update you on exactly when students will be back on-site. Our teachers are extremely excited by the news and can not wait to see their students back in the classroom. More information will be provided to you as soon as it becomes available. Regards Mr. B

13.01.2022 More COVID Cup! #GSPS #Bourchier

13.01.2022 Today the Premier announced some significant easing of restrictions in regional Victoria. This good news is testament to the sacrifices made right across the st...ate to slow the spread of coronavirus. What we are doing is working. For regional schools it means primary school students can return to the classroom sooner than we previously expected . During the first week of term four, all rural and regional primary schools will return to face to face teaching. As previously announced VCE and VCAL students will attend on-site for the General Achievement Test and other essential assessments and special school students can continue to attend on-site. It is a significant step forward for regional communities and I want to thank all of schools staff, parents and carers, and our students for the work everyone has done during this challenging period.

Outside School Hours Care will operate on this day from 8am-6pm. We will update our school calendar and send this out next week. ... Regards Mr. B

04.01.2022 Dear Parents, The last step in the lifting of restrictions in Victoria occurred on Sunday and we have just received the new Operations Guide. This will see the school returning to some normalcy. Therefore parents are now welcome back on school site, (starting tomorrow morning) for example for school drop-offs and pick-ups. Exciting news for all.... There will still be some restrictions on how we do things. For instance, face masks are still compulsory if you enter the school buildings and physical distancing will also be expected, so no gathering in groups in the school grounds or at school gates please. Parents will not be allowed into classrooms for reading at this stage due to the difficulty of maintaining physical distancing. However if you need to talk to your child's teacher about something, this can occur. We will no longer have staggered pick-up times, everyone will go back to our normal dismissal time of 3:15pm. We will continue to enforce the Kiss and Go strategy along Abernathy St. You will not be able to park along Abernathy St in the mornings and afternoons. If you wish to come into the school grounds, please park elsewhere. There is plenty of parking available along other streets nearby. There will be more information come out in the coming days around other changes related to upcoming school events. Stay tuned! This is exciting times, however please abide by the new guidelines. We look forward to seeing you inside the school rather than inside the car! Regards Mr. B
