24.01.2022 New post series. Practising and implementing inclusion is not simply updating all your stock photography with diverse people. Practising and implementing inclusion is not a vague two-sentence statement on your website.... Practising and implementing inclusion is not simply adding diverse staff to your all-white team. Rushing or making optical changes to how you and your business looks, without the necessary self-awareness and genuine anti-racist learning and implementation is not something you can hide. These optics-only changes you are making aren’t having the positive effect on diverse people that you are hoping for. 17.01.2022 Coaches, Entrepreneurs, Creatives, Healers and Writers, If you have goals to be more visible in your work, express your mission and expand your community in 2021 here are 3 Reasons you must join Inclusive Leaders Collective: 1. You’ll have opportunities to pump up your visibility and vocalise your message in unmissable 2021 and future Inclusive Leaders and Formidable Voices event speaker lineups.... 2. You’ll receive heart-lead, coach and practitioner-focused anti-racist anti-oppression leadership training and education designed to expand yourself and your work. 3. I actively and generously amplify and elevate people who are in community with me which is why social media spotlights and an online practitioner directory are membership benefits (depending on membership tier). I intend to host a virtual leadership event later this year to celebrate Inclusive Leaders Collective founding members. If you want to be all in on that, join the Collective now! See more

12.01.2022 Multiple posts from me in one day, it has been a while. The Anatomy of an Apology by @rainawrites because it is too common that some people missed the memo (really?) or chose not to get it right. Past Facebook post by me which reads: Note to self: screenshot suspect convos with ww immediately for receipts. ... The ww are at it again deleting what makes them look bad publicly, erasing labour and replies from WOC and preferring to address it privately i.e. protecting themselves and only themselves. When you apologise to a WOC privately, then delete the public post after being questioned by another WOC in the comments, the apology means nothing. You do not see or hear me, nor are you sorry about causing me harm. And why do I single out *hite women? Because that is who has personally breached my boundaries, acted nasty in my post comments, been racist and harmed me the most (yes, compared to their male counterpart, online). The experience which instigated that post was due to a former *hite woman friend who used a racist slur, I took time and labour to educate her and she publicly went on to slam me and a WOC friend caught her out. 3 years on, I'm seasoned in identifying when shit like this stinks.

09.01.2022 "Nobody’s net worth is an indicator of their self worth." - Elizabeth DiAlto Some notes from me: And my less than 6 figure is no indication of my ability to positively impact thousands of people. It is no indication of my 'worth' as a human, as a woman or as a biracial Asian woman of colour. ... Just because someone makes tons of money doesn't make them more successful or more worthy of attention or celebration either. Just because someone has hundreds of thousands or millions of followers, doesn't make them fit to lead. I repeat: It doesn't make them fit to lead. I don't do my work for the money, I do it for our (BIPOC) survival, our thriving and because when I use my voice, the ripples, courage and confidence that it enables in others who resonate with me, it THE gold of this work I do. - Sharyn

09.01.2022 I have one request in 2020 For black history month... Black people were enslaved. We were born into enslavement. ... We were healers, craftspeople, herbalists, agricultural masters and more within enslavement. . We can move past referring to our ancestors as "slaves". That title is a term to shame us for something we did not create or ask for. It dehumanizes our ancestors and discounts the incredible gifts each had. Language matters.

08.01.2022 Content warning: r*pe, domestic violence, coward punches. Let's talk about examples of the double standards in this country and who is granted humanity and protection. Australia has a culture of violence and people in power who will do EVERYTHING to protect cis male identity (predominantly *hite male) above all others. For context I've included tweets in the images and image descriptions below plus other tweets relevant to the conversation. ... The numbers don't lie. What can we and what are we doing about this? Where are the human rights and protections for everyone who isn't *hite cis male? Where is the research and statistics on preventing death and violence towards women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA??? Tweets read: @noplaceforsheep: I don’t recall us being invited to have our say on blokes getting king hit. I recall almost immediate legislative action & the closure of an entire fucking city area @droverdriver61: Blokes getting bashed.....very bad. Women getting bashed, r*ped.......what did she say, what was she wearing, etc..... @lel0601: Viagra went on the PBS without a whisper from the Govt, while women fought an 18 year battle for tampons to be GST free. @MixItUpMixy: Image of Monash University and Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine research update identifying 127 Australians killed by coward punches since 2000. There have been around 900 women die from domestic violence in that same time frame. Tweets not shown (added here for context): @AlannaHambridge: Absolutely. Yet on average, one woman per week is killed by her partner or ex partner. The response? Nothing. NOTHING. This is a crisis for women’s safety. A crisis of men’s violence towards women. It’s like we don’t matter. Have never mattered. #EnoughIsEnough @Breneleski: I recall the very effective and immediate language culture change, from king hit to coward punch. @AngeliqueSuzan1: And HRT is still not on the PBS. So my ability to live a normal life (not an exaggeration) is less important than an erect!on for a limp dick.... Got it

08.01.2022 No justice. No peace. Take action, don’t just scroll on by. Click through to @khadija_gbla’s post for all the slides. ... April 15th will mark 30 years since the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in custody. There have been 5 deaths in custody since March 2nd. Due to systemic racism, ongoing colonisation and genocide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are most incarcerated people in the world (2,346 per 100,000) make up 28% of the total prison population, but just 3% of the total population. more likely to be taken into custody unnecessarily jailed younger and more frequently 11 times more likely to be denied bail and jailed on remand less likely to receive required medical care and have all relevant procedures followed and this statistics are just the tip of the iceberg! Beyond marching and protesting what can we all do as settlers and colonisers? Donate to @dhadjowa_foundation an organisation that supports and amplifies the voices of families whose loved ones have died in custody. Donate directly to the gofunds set up by the impacted families such as this one for Wayne Fella Morrison by his sister @clout_aroha https://www.gofundme.com/f/justiceforfella Donate to the @incarceratedtgdfund which supports Incarcerated Trans & Gender Diverse people with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. https://www.gofundme.com/f/incarcerated-trans-amp-gender-di Sign the petition calling into he prime minister to meet with the families whose loved ones have died in custody. https://www.natsils.org.au/blm/ It is important to remember that every death in custody represents an individual life lost unnecessarily, a grieving family and community. This is not just about numbers but about real people, the owners of this country and their continual fight for justice and survival!

05.01.2022 Note: cross-post from Instagram. If preventing harm and discrimination towards marginalised people aren’t at the top of your fave coach, wellness practitioner, leader, speaker list, then they shouldn’t be for anybody. I have affirmed for a long time now the importance of creating inclusive spaces which centre and prevent harm to the most marginalised must be made a priority. I have also affirmed that ‘safe’ or brave spaces of diversity can’t be led by huite people who’ve not...Continue reading
