01.01.2022 I was privileged to meet a true hero yesterday: Hobart born and raised Flight Lieutenant David Jennings DFC. David served as a Lancaster pilot with 50 Squadron Royal Air Force Bomber Command during the Second World War, including being shot down and a subsequent period as a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft 3 where the famous 'Great Escape' occurred. The death rate for aircrew in Bomber Command during the war was more than 45%--staggering. We owe so much to this generation. Than...k you for your service and sacrifice. Great to be able to support this and other veterans organisations with funding to help them through COVID.
