25.01.2022 Famous people who've had great results with hypnotherapy and all it has to offer :) The great thing about hypnosis is you just let go and allow your subconscious mind to do all the work. Hypnotherapy is tailored just for you. Everything you need is there and you might just need the switch to activate or change some of the strategies you already have. If it's time to make a change I can help :)... https://mindbodyhypnotherapy.com/30-famous-people-who-have/

24.01.2022 Hypnotherapy and Trance - What’s it like? Being in trance allows your mind to wander and engage at a more subconscious level. You already do this in everyday life (maybe without noticing). Being so absorbed in book or movie and you feel like you could actually be there or just daydreaming about nothing in particular....which i tend to do a lot.... Depending on what’s happening in your world at the time of your session you may drift off into a light trance or a deeper one. I remember asking my first hypnotherapist years ago to make me completely unconscious...thinking the more 'out of it' the better the results ;) It was my first visit and I probably went into a medium trance. I only remembered bits and pieces and remember being really tired after the session. The levels aren’t too important. You may find they vary with each visit but you’ll still gain fantastic results. - Light Trance - You can hear sounds around you and your body feels relaxed and comfortable. - Medium Trance - Your body is more relaxed. You can hear external sounds but you’re now very aware of your internal thoughts and feelings. - Deep Trance - You can hear things around you in the background but you’re so relaxed you just don’t care about responding to anything external happening around you. Just focussing on your internal world and deep in thought. Hope that gives you some clarity around the experience itself!

23.01.2022 What is all this conscious and unconscious mind stuff!? There are two parts to our mind. The conscious part which determines the actions you are going to take right now....the things you are 'doing' and the unconscious which determines the reactionsit works out whether something is good or bad or if something is dangerous or safe. ... It’s there to protect you. A big library of everything that has happened to you throughout your life. All your life experiences good or bad are kept here and you access these as and when you need to. If you've had a bad experience you might unconsciously not want to do that thing again. We talk about our subconscious mind all the time without realising it. Here are some examples I’ve come up with: * I had a bad feeling about going on that date.... * I wish I’d gone with my gut feeling.... * That doesn’t feel right.... * I felt comfortable..so I just did it.... * I don’t even think about smoking, I just do it because it calms me down.... *I just get on the train and I’m at work and I don’t even need to think about how I got there.... * Now that’s happened i'm never doing it again.... *I've been doing that for ages so i just do it without knowing.... Your unconscious mind runs your body and it handles all those things we don’t have to think aboutyour heartbeats, breathing, your immune system and the way you make decisions. It protects you and creates filters and mechanisms for you so that you’ll be OK. We work with these filters and put new ones in place with hypnotherapy during hypnosissome of the old filters might not be right for you any more such as smoking or drinking or getting worried about something before it happens...or you have some habits you'd like to be more aware of so you can subconsciously change them to be healthy habits rather than unhealthy ones. Have a lovely weekend. Stay safe and mindful! Guy

17.01.2022 I've always loved the 'Leaves on a Stream' technique to help calm thoughts, especially when in bed trying to get to sleep with 1000 thoughts running through your mind....whether they be good or bad. This is based on the acceptance and commitment therapy (which I'm a big fan of). Simply acknowledging you have lots of thoughts.....and just letting them be where they need to be, so you can be present and drift off to sleep, or gain focus on where you need to be right now in the world :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1C8hwj5LXw

17.01.2022 No doubt everyone’s minds are going into overdrive with all that’s happening. We are bombarded with multiple news updates, formal announcements and theories. Sometimes it might feel like it’s completely taking over your thoughts. Try to allocate a small amount of time for the news and then switch to your favourite Spotify music channel or just regular radio channel.... More importantly create some time to talk to friends and family. Be mindful when your discussions drift and become entirely COVID related. Video chat is a great way to bring you back into a positive frame of mind. And remember, there are some great (and free) support networks and services out there that can help manage anxiety and depression. Be Well! Guy :)

17.01.2022 I love the idea of Mindful eating. It's simply allowing yourself to become aware of the positive and nurturing opportunities that are available through the food that you choose and prepare for yourself. You might find this pretty useful if you struggle with portion control, emotional eating or eating too fast.

17.01.2022 Quick ways to calm your mind Most of us know what it feels like to when stress starts to creep in. Some great ways to reconnect! - Breathe in. Imagine all of the calm entering your body and taking over every cell. Breathe out. Imagine all of your worries evaporating into the air into a mist.and floating away.... - Ask yourself ‘what do I really need to do right now’ and just let the answer come to the surface. - Stop and look at the clouds..just for 5 minutes.watch them change and drift and whether they remind you of anything. - Do something little you’ve been putting off. A tiny thing. Putting the washing on, emptying the dishwasher, doing your nails, popping on a mask or even just making a cup of tea. - Think about one good thing about yourself.even if it’s ‘I’m doing my best’, ‘I’m coping pretty well’, ‘I’m a good friend’, ‘I’m getting there’! - Bring something from nature into your house. This sounds weird. A leaf, a rock, a shell from the beach. Change your desktop to a beautiful pic of a place you love. - When you make a choice say to yourself ‘is this the right choice for me?’let the feeling come from your gut. You will know the answer. Checking with your internal wisdom is important.

17.01.2022 The POWER of powernaps! I wish I was able to powernap every day in one of those fancy sleeping capsules like they have in the luxury offices of Google. Sadly, I can probably only powernap when I’m working from home or on weekends. ... I still need to master the timing and would definitely recommend earplugs and a cozy sleeping mask for your nap so you get the full benefits. 20-26 minutes is proven to be the ideal time for a recharge.where you won’t wake up feeling groggy and you’ll be more alert..ready to take on the rest of your day. A 90 minute nap will give you a full cycle of sleep where you can also wake up with improved creativity, emotional balance and memory without the groggy feeling. It can be so tempting to over go over the 20mins! I need to work on this :) These are tough times we are going through so treat yourself with kindness and when you’re recharging your internal batteries try to let go of any thoughtslet them float away and just BE.even if it’s for this short time. Your thoughts will be there when you’ve rejuvenated. Be Well!

14.01.2022 Forest bathing is a powerful antidote to combat the pressures of the modern world, proven to deliver lasting benefits to your physical and mental wellbeing. It creates a great connection to nature and helps you feel grounded. It promotes mindfulness and is a great way to allow you to be present in the here and the now. Originating in Japan, Forest Bathing is an accepted part of Japanese preventative health care because of the mental, physical and spiritual health benefits it delivers. Also known as forest therapy, it draws on thousands of years of intuitive knowledge - we are part of nature and we have a deep need to feel that connection.

14.01.2022 Allow your thoughts to float away It can be hard to settle your mind with so many thoughts going around! Especially at night. There are many mindfulness exercises but here’s one I really like. * Picture yourself standing on top of a mountain surrounded by balloons... * Focusing now on one of your thoughts * Take that thought and place it the basket of one of those balloons * And now let it drift off.up into the sky..watching it take it’s place up amongst the clouds.until it’s just a speck * Do that for each thought now * And just allowing those thoughts to be up theresomewhere I guess you could say it’s similar to counting sheep but with thoughts :)

14.01.2022 Hold yourself gently. YOU are important too! Looking after everyone can be exhausting..but are you looking after you? It is easy to forget to be gentle on yourself and give yourself some space to just BE. * No one is perfect. Our mistakes are us learning... * We are all unique and can’t BE someone else * Hold your values tightly. They are important * Your past is an adventure * It’s easy to forget how great you are. You have talents. Thinking about them can help create calm and self worth * Be with people who inspire you and lift you up * Celebrate the small things and take the time to just ‘notice’ the amazing things in the world with curious eyes See more

13.01.2022 The conscious and the unconscious mind. How are they different and why is it important in hypnotherapy? The easiest way is to explain how each works. The conscious mind is the part of the mind you are using right now.....to use your computer or phone, turn a page in a book.....or turn the heater on when it's getting a bit chilly. You use it to DO things. The subconscious mind is so AMAZING. It's the part of our mind that stores all our experiences, memories and emotions. It d...oesn't judge but it can and does filter out how we make decisions and perceive the world based on what has happened throughout our lives. You could say these are filters or lenses. Hypnotherapy allows us, through hypnosis (trance) to access this part and make positive change. We are essentially adding positive new things/behaviours and tools so we can draw upon them and bring them into our conscious mind......into our 'here and now world'. This is usually through the power of positive suggestion. I hope this makes sense. One example would be from my own experience. After my hypnotherapy sessions I kept having thoughts every time i went to eat something 'it needs to be light and be good for my body'. This is what we would call a positive suggestion. Can i remember it being said to me......not at all :)

11.01.2022 I’m the first to admit I’m not a huge fan of water (I wish I was) or gimmicky fad things.but staying hydrated and bumping up the probiotics (either yoghurt or the little yakult/home brand bottles) seem to really help with metabolism and feeling healthier. I’m now a big fan of these flavoured cold infusion bags and have been making a jug with a couple of bags each day to keep me hydrated. Super cheap, they don’t actually have any caffeine like tea or coffee and are all natural.

08.01.2022 Breathing for Calm Just a few minutes can make the biggest difference when you're caught up in the moment and feeling a bit anxious. Think about how you breathe when you feel relaxed. When you first wake up in the morning or just before you fall asleep. ... Breathing exercises can help you relax, because they make your body feel like it does when you are already relaxed. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. This is because when you breathe deeply, it sends a message to calm down and relax your body

07.01.2022 A post from one of my favourite influencers . Perfectly describing how some of us may have unknowingly indulged over during recent events. It's so easy to fall into habit but can just as easy to fall out and adjust to the new (or original) you :)

07.01.2022 Gut bacteria. How is it important for your mind and happiness? The amount of information out there about diets!!! It gets to the point where you just want to block it all out..views on what is good and badone day it’s good and the next it’s bad. You don’t need to be a certain weight, shape or size. Feeling happy is far more important and achieving a body shape goal is an added bonus :) What IS right is what is right for you and YOUR body. I do know it’s important to make su...re you have a healthy level of bacteria in your gut to help regulate your metabolism, your energy levels and boost your overall health (including your mental wellbeing). If you’re taking a medication, especially if it’s an antidepressant, you can improve levels of serotonin and feel better and happier. There is a definite link to a happy gut and a happy mind. It’s worth to give it a go and see if it makes a difference for you. What are some of these helpful foods? * Probiotics. Even though our diet might not be 100% on track, those little bottles of probiotic drinks from the supermarket or a spoonful of natural yoghurt can do wonders. There are also probiotic supplements at the chemist or health food store (normally they are always on sale). * Try to eat a variety of fruit and vegetables.make sure it’s something you enjoy eatingthose frozen packets of mixed vegetables with some butter or margarine and a bit of salt and pepper (or your favourite sauce) could make things more appetising. * Anything which is fermented or pickled - especially yogurt, sauerkraut or kombucha drinks. There are some really nice yoghurts out there. * Opt for whole grains rather than white - so many restaurants have brown rice as an option and it’s generally better for you. The packets of brown rice and chia from the supermarket that you microwave are an easy option if you’re having a stir fry, curry or slow cooked meal. * Dark chocolate, blueberries and almonds - I love all of these and could probably create a diet based on them alone!. There are those individual packets of almonds around which help with portion control. The good thing about dark chocolate is you struggle to eat a lot compared to milk chocolate. Everything in moderation! Be well and stay safe during these difficult times. We are nearly there! Guy

06.01.2022 Hi All! So you know a little about me and why I decided to study and practice clinical hypnotherapy. Here goes! It was nearly 10 years ago when I was going through a not so good time in my life. I hadn't known much about hypnotherapy, what it could do or how it worked. There were so many things going on I wasn't in the best frame of mind....Continue reading

06.01.2022 Sometimes all you need to do is sitand not think.just breathe in all that is around you.and just ‘be’ :)

04.01.2022 Staying Present - The Mindfulness Bell In these times of uncertainty it's had to be present and think about where we are right now. There are many different mindfulness techniques but i love this one because it's so simple and very effective. ... All you need to do is to find a quiet space and listen.......and watch.......the whole thing takes 5 minutes......when you feel calm enough to close your eyes.....just continue listening and focussing on the sounds......and zoning out. It's amazing what a difference this tiny thing can do to bring you back to where you need to be. This is similar to what it feels like to be in hypnosis/trance....to allow yourself to relax and let your subconscious mind do all the work. Happy Sunday All!

02.01.2022 Sleep and the subconscious We use our subconscious mind throughout the day but when we’re sleeping is when is when it’s most active. Most of us have heard the term ‘just sleep on it’. When you’re asleep your subconscious mind will look at things from different angles and give you some perspective when you awake.... I’m sure there’s been many times when you’ve been trying to decide or remember something.whether it’s something trivial or at crossroads with a choice you’d like to make. It’s been said ‘never go to sleep without a request to your subconscious’. Think about something you might want to achieve or need an answer forsomething that needs a decision. See it as the ‘post your question here’ part of your mind (you could even write it down or put it in your phone). There are some really good techniques for dumping the unhelpful thoughts so you can drift off into slumber. This is also a part of hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy and sleep go hand in hand. Normally after a productive hypnotherapy session where you’ve gone into hypnosis (trance) your mind will continue to process all the positive suggestions while you sleep and help you get strongerand guide you towards your goal or the situation you need help resolving. My client’s have noticed waking up 'feeling different'. That's how i felt as a client with my sessions. It’s SO rewarding to hear someone has ‘forgotten something used to bother them’ or ‘made a change they'd been wanting to make for a while’. Clinical Hypnotherapy is FABULOUS because you just need to be open to change and know what you want to achieve. You can always reach out to me if you have any questions about how it works or how it can work for you :)

01.01.2022 Anxiety and Hypnotherapy? Anxiety is very common for most of us but it doesn’t mean we have to accept it as part of who we are. There is so much going on at present. We’ve had to recently adapt in ways we would have never imagined.... Hypnotherapy is extremely beneficial in treating anxiety, stress and fears. It can help calm your mind, tame those thoughts and help you to be kind to yourself. During hypnosis you are relaxed and attention is brought to your specific symptoms..we bring focus to your positive coping mechanismsyou would most definitely have these subconsciously. Hypnosis allows new positive coping mechanisms to come into place in addition to the ones which surface from your subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy helps you realise when you are experiencing anxiety and then trigger automatic positive ways of dealing with the anxiety and providing calm.to help you be mindful and present. I’ve successfully treated a number of clients with anxiety related issues and they have experienced better sleep, clearer thoughts and a more positive outlook :)
