Even though our season start has been postponed, our uniform order for tracksuits, winter coats and hoodies will be placed on the 1st of April 2019. 18.01.2022 The government held a press conference yesterday afternoon and have advised that their cabinet will be meeting to make decisions about containment and eradicati...on of the COVID-19 virus over the weekend. They have made a statement that events of 500 people or more will probably be banned. With this in mind, once we have received notice of the decisions of the government we will be able to make a decision on the Gordon Creighton Cup on 4th April and other future Group 19 JRL scheduled events.

13.01.2022 Guyra Junior Rugby League have become the targets of the recent thefts that occured over the weekend. We have had stolen 5 of our brand new playing jumpers. We are missing 4 of the TR & EA Looker Fencing contractor/ Guyra Hotel jumpers. The missing numbers are 2,11,12,13. The other jumper is No 5 with the sponsor as Warren Lockyer Transport. These jumpers are new stock and can be easily identified. No one else will have these jumpers within the community as they are for p...layers on game day only. We have also had meat and bread stolen from our freezer as well as our one of our cupboards damaged. Senior League were also unlucky as they too had items stolen. If you notice anyone wearing one of these jumpers please contact the local police. Our little club works very hard to have what we have and for someone to come in and think that they can take what they want is disgusting and the lowest of all acts. Hopefully the culprits can be caught and dealt with accordingly. See more

It was fantastic to not only welcome back our returning players but to welcome so many new players to our club!!! 2020 is set to be an amazing season!!!!! 10.01.2022 Today a decision was made by NRL to postpone all Grassroots Rugby League games until May at this stage. It is still really important that we are 2020 ready for when we get the go ahead for our season to commence. We urge all of our players to register so that we can submit our teams for the 2020 season. 04.01.2022 It is with great disappointment that Guyra Junior Rugby League have decided to withdraw from the Group 19 2020 season. This decision was not the outcome that we were anticipating but unfortunately with the current covid restrictions in place by our local council we have been left with no choice but to withdraw from the competition. The Guyra Sporting Complex is council owned and therefore we must follow Armidale Regional Councils guidelines. ARC are still operating under th...e rule of no more than 20 people gathered at a field/venue at any one time, including coaches/trainers and parents etc until further notice. These current restrictions make it impossible for us to successfully enter a competition, as game days and training are simply a no goer. With the season kicking off on July 18, and with no training under our belt GJRL have had to take into consideration the duty of care of our players. We can assure you that GJRL did have a covid plan and a covid officer in place which was approved by NSWRL to enter the competition. The health and safety of our community also played a major factor in our decision. The Covid pandemic has challenged each and everyone of us in some way and has left our community like many others to financial struggle. along with many families still recovering from the worst drought in history. We did not want to add extra financial pressure or put any one at risk. We would like to congratulate all clubs within Group 19 whether or not you have entered the season or not. No club at the start of the season would have ever imagined that we would have been faced with a worldwide pandemic that would change our lives forever. I am sure for those clubs that have withdrawn from the competition, you can sympathise with me the heartache and pressure one has had to endure to finally come to the conclusion of defeat. GJRL will miss our players and their families coming together within the community along with the friendly rival of other clubs. Whilst in the downtime GJRL will continue to positively work hard to ensure you all that we will come back bigger and better next year.
