23.01.2022 Was a great evening and thanks to Steph and friends for the music!
22.01.2022 Magnificent Ginko at Benalla Goulburn Valley Writers Group (from Shepparton) with assistance from the Broken River Writers (from Benalla) held a truly magnifice...nt Ginko with Lysenko in the beautiful town of Benalla on Sunday September 8. The Ginkoists meet at the North East Artisans Gallery where the Lysenko harangued everyone (gently but emphatically) about throwing out this outdated 5 7 5 business and replacing it with a tight two image poem a fragment (the small bit) and a phrase (the slightly larger bit). ‘Twas a very structured presentation which had the occasionally heated moment! All smiles at the end though. Ginkoists were presented with a Haiku Pack put together by the magnificent chief organiser David Kelly (so I have to blow my own trumpet!) with information and guidance sheets provided by the magnificent Myron Lysenko. Ginkoists went to the nearby Aboriginal Garden on the banks of the Broken River and absorbed the atmosphere before returning to the NEA for discussion of their attempted Haiku. They (retaining third person narrative style) were a small but highly talented group as the photos show. Many thanks to GV Writers Presidential Robyn Black for much, Jade Pisani for long driving, Carla Gardner for organising the venue and to Regional Arts Victoria for financial assistance. See more
