24.01.2022 Winter coats - $37.50 Orders are now being taken for Winter coats. The school Winter coats are a navy, fleece-lined wind and rain proof jacket with an optional hood. The coats have the Gwynneville Public School logo embroidered on the left breast. A few sample sizes are available for students to try in the school office. The coats tend to be on the larger size, so it is recommended that students try a sample coat to gauge the correct size.... 18.01.2022 A message from your P&C. Dear all, As you may have read in the newsletter, some children at school have been involved in an instance of cyber-bullying, which is shocking, disappointing and worrying.... Your P&C and wider parent community completely supports our school in taking action to stamp out bullying of any kind. Our school has an exceptional record and reputation when it comes to providing a safe, nurturing and caring learning environment. Health and wellbeing continues to be a school priority, as are our values of respect, honesty and integrity. The school staff will continue to manage and monitor the situation. Your P&C 'family' would also like to extend support. The following web based resources provide some good information to start a conversation with children. Please talk to your children about inappropriate use of social media, respect for others, appropriate versus inappropriate behaviour, and, speaking up. Although this incident happened outside school, we need to strengthen the message that bullying is NEVER ok and should always be reported. https://kidshelpline.com.au/teens/issues/bullying https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents/big-issues/cyberbullying Please get in touch if you would like to talk about this issue, and how we can support children and parents. Thank you.

15.01.2022 Canteen re-opening Monday 1st June for three days per week. SUPPORTING AND PROTECTING OUR STUDENTS & STAFF RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Canteen Operation... Gwynneville Public School P&C Association Canteen staff are passionate about serving our school community as we are looking after our school students and staff during these challenging times. As the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to evolve, we wanted to share with you some important information about the steps we’re taking to minimise the risk of exposure to our school community. Our Commitment to Hygiene As a Food Service, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. However, as a precautionary measure and out of care for everyone’s wellbeing, we've added extra hours of proactive deep cleaning in the canteen, every day. Additional hygiene measures include: Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sanitising our canteen and food preparation stations where our fresh food is prepared daily. Constantly monitoring health and hygiene practices with our volunteers. Providing sanitiser/hand gel on each counter for students. Avoiding Touching Hands Staff will wear gloves during customer service time to avoiding touching or contact with each other. As a general practice, gloves are changed after each 30 minutes or earlier (where needed). As a precautionary measure, student use of reusable lunch order bags has been replaced with paper bags. Students in Canteen lines will be socially distanced. Canteen Operating Hours/Days From Monday 1st June the canteen will re-open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch time only. Children may purchase snacks etc. at this time. Mrs Trish Payne PRINCIPAL

Tuesday - K Yellow, 2/3 Green and 5/6 Maroon. Wednesday - 1 Pink and 3/4 Orange. Thursday - 4/5 Brown, 1 Gold and 2 Blue. Mrs Cathy Ahearn Assistant Principal
08.01.2022 Dear all parents and carers, You would have found out via the Media, as we did, that all students are expected to return to school as of Monday, 25th May. Everyone is excited for us to get back to normality! We will still be practising social distancing and good hygiene practices as best we can. ... We will also be enforcing no adults to enter school grounds. If you have any concerns or needs please phone the Office and we will be happy to help. If your child is unwell please keep them at home. We will continue with the staggered start and finish times: - K-2 arriving from 9am and departing at 2:50pm, - year 3-6 students arriving from 8:40am and departing at 3:10pm. We understand that these times may not suit everyone and that some K-2 students will be catching the bus. That is totally fine. We are just try to avoid large gatherings at the gates. If you have a child in K-2 that catches the bus or goes to After School Care, please complete the reply slip that will be sent home with your child or notify your child’s teacher. Please ensure that your child has their own drink bottle as we are not allowed to use the bubblers. We do have the means to refill their drink bottles if needed.
