16.01.2022 Alright everyone. STOP for a minute and watch our good friend, Terrance Donnell Holley use a spoon independently for the first time since his brain injury eight... years ago. Today is a very, very good day!! Want to know how it happened? Terrance came to The Denbigh House, Clubhouse for Survivors of Brain Injury and began talking with his assigned staff member about becoming more independent. Staff researched options and found a spoon made by GYENNO Technologies that is used with individuals with Parkinsons to reduce the effects of tremors. Terrances assigned student intern, Brianna from the Christopher Newport University social work program applied for funding through the Brain Injury Direct Services fund thats made available by the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services.
