16.01.2022 We are back at Castle Hill tomorrow!! Thank you for all your understanding last week.

15.01.2022 I had a very specific event not too long ago that left me on the verge of breakdown. It seemed so silly, but it felt like I was receiving every bit of sensory i...nformation in the room. I was cooking while I had my son watch a cartoon, the oven fan was going, he kept running up to Alexa and requesting songs, my husband walked in to ask me a question, and I was sure I was going to lose it. Immediately, I shouted like my life depended on it please, turn that down...turn it off. This is not the only case of sensory overload I’ve experienced. I’ve noticed it more and more as I’ve become a mother. I’ve swapped silent car rides for car rides entertained by Blippi’s top musical performances, snack requests, and what feels like 100 questions. Some days I take it all in stride, and others I feel like I’m drowning in sensory input. Given how much I’ve noticed sensory overload in my life since becoming a mother, I thought it would be a great opportunity to discuss this week. Have you experienced this? Share with me

14.01.2022 Levels 1 & 2 will have a cat in their treasure bag this week at GymbaROO. Reinforce this theme at home, talk about cats, pretend to be cats, make cat noises, point out cats when you see them. Repetition of words is very important for language development.

09.01.2022 We are so very proud of all our staff at GymbaROO Rouse Hill for all the cleaning and measures taken to ensure we are implementing all of the governments conditions to minimise the risk of Covid Spread in our centre. We had a surprise visit by the Covid Marshalls yesterday and received amazing feedback for all our efforts, and told to keep up the great work! To say i'm proud of our team is an understatement, and to know we are doing the very best to keep our families and students as safe as possible is some of the best news we could have received. Thank you to all our families who have so easily gone with all of the new restrictions and changes to our program to ensure we are complying with the new conditions.

04.01.2022 Teacher Spotlight: Jo Hi friends, I’m Jo and I teach at Rouse Hill on Mondays and at Castle Hill GymbaROO on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have been teaching at GymbaROO for 14 years, and feel very priviledged that I can go to work and do something that I absolutely love every day. I have previously worked in both pre-school and primary school settings, however have always had a special affinity with early childhood development and knew early on that the 0-5 year old age group... was where I belonged. My GymbaROO journey started when I first took my eldest daughter to classes 26 years ago. I have two other children that both completed the GymbaROO program. It wasn’t until 2007 when my youngest child was 3.5 years old that the opportunity arose to work in the centre. I have since worked across three centres, and been employed by two different owners of the centres. My youngest child was born with mild cerebral palsy and attended GymbaROO from 14 months until school. He is now doing year 12, just got his drivers licence, plays competitive tennis and has a part time job in restaurant. I passionately believe that attending GymbaROO classes laid solid foundations that have enabled my children to grow and learn to their full potential and become the well balanced adults they are today. The knowledge the program gave me and the repetition of key activities at home during those early years made a huge difference. Over the years of my teaching, and further training, I have become fascinated with the brain and am constantly reading, learning and updating my knowledge. I get so much pleasure being actively involved with you in helping your little ones reach those important milestones. I have seen multiple children from the same families continue through our program and often have families attending 10 years in a row through multiple children. How wonderful it is to build these relationships with these families and watch them grow through some of the most challenging, yet rewarding years of their lives. It is the most rewarding time when you see the children going off to school with their brain and body well prepared, so they can progress into their school life with the best start for learning. Did you know: I am lucky enough to pass my passion on to new GymbaROO teachers as a GymbaROO teacher trainer for NSW, ensuring all our new GymbaROO teachers in the state have the best knowledge and up to date information to be able to pass on to our families. I will be teaching GymbaROO until I retire which is hopefully a long way off! In my spare time I enjoy: gardening, pilates and doing things around the home with my family. I am also about to become a grandmother for the first time!! My eldest daughter is currently pregnant and due in May. So I will add babysitting to my spare time activities very soon I’m sure. I can not wait to be a GymbaROO Nanna as well. See more

04.01.2022 GymbaROO Castle Hill now has their very own Instagram and Facebook pages. Come on over and join us if you attend our Castle Hill centre.

02.01.2022 We will have spaghetti in the treasure bag this week at GymbaROO for levels 3-8! Please remember we are not bringing in your own items this term. We will be trying to restrict the amount of items being brought into the centre. Use the week to reinforce the theme at home where they can cook, play and experiment through their senses.
