12.01.2022 Toddler Class (Beginner Walker and Up) Throughout the term we cover various areas of development- gross motor and fine motor. The sessions offer a certain routine for your child and some challenges as well throughout the term. A 50min class includes:... * Unstructured Climbing Time * Each lesson begins with 10 min free explorative play on our large equipment and is a nice time to socialise with other parents and children. Free time is followed by mat time. * Mat Time * Mat time starts with bubbles and music. The parents and children are invited to come and sit on the mat together as a group and sing a hello song. Small equipment skills (balls etc), exercises, massage and a dance will follow. Each exercise is shown and explained to you to enable you to do the same at home. This 20 mins on the mat finishes with our special treasure bag time which follows the theme for the term. This is loved by the children and is important for language, social interaction, tactile experiences, imagination, and reinforces the word for the week which is quickly flashed to your child. This stimulates memory and pre-reading skills. Being fully involved with the activities of your child is beneficial for all children and enhances love, security, joy and learning. * Equipment Time * Another 15 mins on our specially designed equipment will give the chance for your child to practice his skills, develop new skills and explore. We have a whole room full of equipment where your children can experiment with their bodies and their own personal capacities. Teachers are always nearby to offer guidance and teach new skills. Older children will enjoy the challenge of following the circuit and practising new movement exercises. The equipment circuit is changed every two weeks to introduce new challenges. We positively encourage and do not force. This must be FUN! * Music Time * The session is concluded with music and parachute time. Each week we have a musical instrument to play and dance with and our big colourful parachute comes out for the children to lie under or play games with. Then everyone sings our traditional goodbye song and goes back home with the weeks picture and word for their GymbaROO visualisation book to use and talk about at home.

The classes are graded non mobile and mobile (commando crawling and creeping) and cover activities such as massage, auditory activities, movement, gentle exercises, music/rhythm/dance, visual (eye tracking) plus lots and lots of ideas for tummy time.

07.01.2022 WELCOME TO GYMBAROO GLEN WAVERLEY Because of the way the program is written, we are able to accept enrolments any week of the term, and for those who start late, fees are reduced on a sliding scale ABOUT OUR TEACHERS AND OUR CLASSES:... Each class has 1 teacher and 1 assistant and a maximum of 12 -16 children (depending on the age group). Each child works with their 'grown up' (ie, the carer who brings them to class - mum, dad, gran, grandpa, a nanny etc) GymbaROO's aim is to show parents how to help their children to reach their full potential in life and to prevent underachievement. Parents learn about neurological development, the importance of activities in early childhood and its impact on their children's achievement at school and life. Our well experienced teachers are a great source of information and complement the weekly handouts that you receive each week on child development. Each class is very carefully designed, specifically for your childs particular stage of development. They are taught in a fun way so that each GymbaROO session is a delight for you and your child. Each session consists of massage, co-ordinated movement to music, fundamental skills development, dance, vestibular games, vision and auditory activities, visualisation skills called "Treasure Bag", parachute, rhythm activities, songs and rhymes. As well as the teaching time, you and your child will be able to experience and learn new activities on our circuit of large equipment. These include slides, swings, big balls & rollers, scooter boards and many rockers to mention a few. The children need to wear comfortable clothes, which will not restrict their movement and rolling activities, and they participate in the session with bare feet, as it important to exercise their feet improving muscle tone and tactility. My 14 yr old daughter Lacey is a finalist for Australian Supermodel of the Year (ASOTY) teen division, and as part of her entry, she needs to raise money for a nominated charity - namely Canteen (supporting children with cancer and their families) We have had these gorgeous (size 5-7) party dresses donated to us and all money from the sale will go to Canteen. Dresses are $25 cash each and can be picked up at the centre before Friday the 30th of Novem...ber, or I can arrange drop off to you.
