23.01.2022 I called on Dan Andrews and Brett Sutton for a 'Please Explain to the fitness industry of Victoria and edited it was...'

20.01.2022 OPEN REGIONAL GYMS 5TH OCTOBER Dan Andrews, your refusal to acknowledge and repeatedly undervalue the fitness industry and the contribution to society that fitness professionals make, makes me cringe. Your public vilification of my peers and your lack of manliness to educate yourself on an industry that solely focuses on better health decreases mental health issues, suppresses addiction, eliminates chronic illness, fights off fatal disease along with keeping the elderly and ...children active astonishes me and 900 thousand health and fitness members in Victoria. That's 900 thousand votes. It's now up to the fitness industry to take charge, you Dan Andrews are restricting our trade with no evidence to keep us closed. In a court of law, you would be thrown out we would re-open and compensation would be paid. Open our doors Monday 5th October #MyGymIsSafe #SaveMyIndustry #PeopleMatter VIC Active

17.01.2022 With Mental Health Week Fast Approaching Regional Club Owner Mel Tempest Calls On The Dan Andrews Government To Consider Opening Gyms With Appropriate COVID19 Management Plans In Place.

17.01.2022 Gyms across Ballarat are increasingly frustrated they can't re-open, despite the city being COVID-free. Owners say their facilities have some of the strictest Coronavirus safety measures, and they're urging the Premier to fast-track their opening.

12.01.2022 Tonight I sat on the Friday Wine Down panel, I arrived about 8 minutes into it. My objective when I reached out to Fitness Australia and JT via a FB panel on FA's FB page was to be involved in a discussion that could possibly see all industry registration brands unite and collaborate for the good of the industry. I believed at the time there was another picture that had unfolded in Victoria that many in roles of leadership were not seeing it, I still believe this. In uncert...ain times this is what you do you put everything aside and you work as one. You don't have to like the person, but you must respect there desire for change I may sound over passionate, people may say it's all about strategy Mel, well the only strategy working right now is the one that Dan Andrews put in place March 22nd 2020 he locked us down let us up for air for 5 weeks then down and out we went. Tonight was never about registration for me or selling a service if it were then the CEO of Fitrec would have been sitting in my seat my objective was about the industry, your business, our communities and working together. 1.We need to call on the Andrews government for a financial relief package for the fitness industry. Small business is crumbling. 2.Fitness business owners need a call to action package on what entitlements they can receive and what they should be asking for from insurance companies. Not everybody is educated. 3.We need a designated point of call for professionals who need advice, counselling and referrals. This is not in our job description. 4.Landlords and financial issues will be a game-changer in 2021 for owners, we need more education supplied, and we need to be able to offer mediation options. 5. Women need to advocate for women to be included in government policy decisions and leadership roles. Imagine what we could deliver if we were united. See more

11.01.2022 We need to be SO GOOD THEY CAN'T IGNORE US! On the Friday Wine Down panel with Edwina Griffin, Meghan W Jarvis, Richard Hermens and Justin JT Tamsett, the Fou...nder & Managing Director of FITREC and HealthyPeople, proposed an idea that could potentially be more influential on the way the government views on our industry than the typical lobbying we've become so familiar with. This two-minute video is one of the juicy bits. View the full video for our wider discussion on how we could be more effective and united as an industry via the link below. https://youtu.be/HCPVtgH8W08

04.01.2022 This morning JT, Mel and Eddy chat with John Scambelluri on "Managing Finances in Challenging Times"

03.01.2022 I was lucky enough to pass on my feedback, I come online around the 10minute mark....

01.01.2022 Yesterday I hijacked the show below to talk a little bit about Victoria, I wasn't a planned guest, as a matter of fact, I was on reception and saw the show come down on my newsfeed but the team were kind enough to include me on air when I asked... The pain for business operators in Victoria is real if they don't get back to profits ASAP many won't return in 2021 if the government doesn't inject funds into our industry many won't even open their doors when restrictions are lif...ted further, yes many gyms are still closed, they just can't open with the ludicrous restrictions currently in place. We need more business owners to speak up and tell their story of hardship so we can push forward and demand a rescue package, we need to make more noise. Tourism, events, hospitality have all received cash injections, yet the biggest industry in Australia that's sole purpose is the health and wellbeing of humans gets nothing. As an industry, we still need to come together as one we're getting better at it but will still need to sit down as one united group to get a better result for our fellow club owners in Victoria. Yesterday's show is an example of everybody coming together sharing a common theme the success of our peers and getting the health and wellbeing of our nation back on track. Thanks, guys! See more
