25.01.2022 Fellow Numbats, anyone keen for a Rugby trip to Vietnam in September this year ??? The VRQ Ballymore Barflys have entered themselves into this tournament, being played in Saigon Vietnam on the 14 - 16th September this year. They are seeking some further players to join the tour. 24.01.2022 Fellow Numbats. Our next adventure awaits, and up into the hills we go. Should be a cracker weekend of rugby, food, music, craft beer and camping under the stars. Please let me know if you're keen, so we can let the Maleny lads know what numbers to expect.

21.01.2022 Thanks to all our players, helpers, registration marshalls, volunteers, bartenders, cleaners, line markers, raffle tickets sellers and spectators for a great day of rugby. Watching a 60+ year old man run down the sideline with a grin from ear to ear, with the crowd cheering him on, to score a try in the corner is what rugby is all about. What an awesome day.

17.01.2022 Fellow Numbats, a reminder to get yourselves sorted for our Ladies Day extravaganza Saturday 13th July. It's shaping up to be an epic day of rugby and fashions - what a combination ! Remember that the Ladies Day tickets are pre-purchase only, so get in before they sell out. ... 15.01.2022 Insurance................. Fellow Numbats, the arrangements for insurance of the Numbats Veterans Rugby Union team have changed this year. I'm still waiting on some details to be confirmed, however the "club" still obtains the insurance, which then covers us as players when we put our name on the players sheet. So that part hasn't changed. Previously we paid our Veterans Rugby Queensland (VRQ) membership and insurance together, to the VRQ. That's the part that has changed. I'll advise as soon as I have it either sorted, a plan, or need your input.

10.01.2022 Numbats - Friday night game, Maroochydore, 21st Sept... Who's keen for a run ? We'll pile in with the lads from Maleny and Caboolture to have a run against the Thirsty Old Lions (TOL's) at Maroochydore.... Kick off time to be confirmed. Let me know if you're keen so we can work out some numbers. Happy to car pool to make it easier for all. Would be a great warm up for the TOL's tournament on Saturday October 6th !!

Along with the finest of VRQ rugby action, there is a full schedule of ladies fashion, club rugby, former Wallabies and some current Red's players. 09.01.2022 Lads, the annual VRQ meeting was held last weekend. There will be a calendar of dates for 2019 tournaments / festivals out soon. The next one is Saturday 16th Feb in Brisbane. There is a separate post for this one. When the other dates come out, I'll let you all know so that we can all plan in advance to attend them. Fully understand that you, we, me, are busy. Nil expectation that you, we, me attend all the events, but let's try to work out which ones suit most and have a g...o at getting some decent numbers. As a club we can't expect other teams to come to our tournament if we don't return the favour. For us to travel for a single game on a Friday or Saturday can be tough. Travelling to play a couple of games and make a full day / afternoon of it makes more sense, to me at least. Our Numbats tournament is locked in for the 13th July, so please make yourself available for this. It will be a huge day, as the Hammers are hosting a massive "Ladies Day" of which our Veterans games will be part of. So mark the date in the calendar, let the better half know that it's a dress in your frock event, and a good time will be had by all. Also seeking some advice on how best to get information to you all, and keep it simple. Not all of our fellow Numbats are on the Book of Face, so we need to work out other options. Is a messenger group going to work, old school with just text messages, perhaps a What'sApp group ? Please let me know what you think, as it can be like herding cats !!! Let's make it a great 2019 of Veteran's Rugby and continue to play the game we all love. Cheers for now, Blacki

06.01.2022 Fellow Numbats - upcoming festivals for us to attend and enjoy the game of rugby and a quiet drink in the company of like minded rugby tragics: 23rd March - Bundaberg with the Rum Ruckers. They have a weekend planned with some lads from Brissy heading up as well. 3:30pm start 30th March - Caboolture Fossils 10's tournament. Half field games, 10 min halves, $15 per player which covers all food and drink ! BYO Chairs... 11th May - Logan Brisbane 15th June - Sunnybank Brisbane and / or Childers with the Rum Ruckers, Isis Sugar Daddies and Gladstone Old Goats 31st August - Maleny, with the option to roll a swag out on the field after the games and entertainment finish on the Saturday night 12th October - Thirsty Old Lions at Maroochydore 26th October - Pine Rivers Brisbane Please keep these dates in mind, and we can work who is going where and perhaps some car pooling. 06.01.2022 Fellow Numbats, our next adventure awaits....... Saturday 15th June up at Childers. Option to spend the night for an overnight roadtrip, or have a sober Bob and get up and back in the day. They host a good show, and we've had a fat time on previous trips. ... Please let me know if you're keen, so we can work out numbers, cars, accommodation if needed and let the lads up there know who's coming.

02.01.2022 Fancy a chat with a Wallaby player or three at our Numbats Veteran's Rugby extravaganza on Saturday 13th July at Albert Park........... News, hot off the press, is that we will have the following Veteran's and former Wallabies, attending the day: Bill Ross, Chris Roche and Michael O'Conner. ... There is some uncertainty if they're able to pull on a Numbats jersey for a run Pretty confident they'll be up for a chat and possibly a cleansing ale So the ladies are well and truly sorted, and make sure you get those marque tickets before the day. Now us lads have just another reason to get on down for what is shaping up to be a huge day of rugby, with something for everyone.

01.01.2022 Fellow Numbats, cheeky road trip to Childers this Saturday 15th December. Kick off at 3:30pm, playing with and against lads from Bundy, Childers and possibly Hervey Bay. Option to roll a swag out at one of the lads houses. I'm heading home right after our game as I have a chrissy party to attend. I have 4 seats in my car if you're happy for a quick trip.
