18.01.2022 Great for Hammers Rugby with 5 of our ladies stepping up to play some rep Sting Ray Rugby at Ballymore Stadium this morning. Coming away with a win over a suburban 10 to 5 with our very own Caitlin Urwin scoring the winning try.

18.01.2022 Finals here we come! Our under 15 and 17 girls will play in finals this coming Friday night at rugby central. The under 17 girls 7’s after a dominate year will be in the race to hold the cup and this will be a cracker. Our other junior teams all play at Brothers Saturday at Kawana. And the big news is after our men’s team secured a win over the Dragons on Saturday at home, we roll to the finals. Our ladies held there 4th position on the ladder also, so we are finals bound.... First time since reboot we have had both men’s and women’s in finals together. We are playing next seniors games SUNDAY at Uni Stay tuned for game times. We want you all in club colours down to support, let’s get on this Gympie.

Our club has been slowly growing as we have climbed back into the comp. 08.01.2022 As we wrap the year up for juniors it just seems so strange that pre season for the club starts in 10 weeks due to the extended Covid year. Yes 10 weeks!!!! We had a great year for all considering the start we faced in March. Next rugby event is Gala day for primary schools on the 11th of November at Albert with the Reds development crew. So ask your school how to sign on. And yes the training vessels will be set up for all to enjoy.

08.01.2022 Well it’s a wrap from Hammers for 2020 with the Boys going down against the new look University team. Uni out played us today in the first 15 minutes that gave them a 17 nil advantage. The lads busted every thing we could to hold them but they were just to good for us today. Coach Dico and the boys should be very proud of what we have achieved. There are some key factors you should consider: Sleep - B...etter sleep equals better recovery. Working out on no sleep means your body hasn't fully recovered from your workout the day before. Aim for 7+ hours of uninterrupted sleep. Stress - Being stressed impairs your body's ability to recover so after exercising you'll feel sorer for longer. Studies have shown that stress increases the time it takes for your muscles to recover and also worsens the feelings of fatigue and soreness. Nutrition as the old saying goes you can’t out train a bad diet. If you are looking to lose bodyfat or increase muscle you need to make the right food choices. Consistency Consistency trumps intensity, every time. Consistency is arguably the most important component when working to accomplish your health and fitness goals, as such it's best to start with a routine that is easy, practical, and enjoyable. Rest Taking regular breaks allows your body to recover and repair. It’s a critical part of progress, regardless of your fitness level. Skipping rest days can lead to overtraining or burnout. Too much cardio - Despite how much we want to stay lean, lose those last 5 kgs - too much cardio can lead to injury, stress, and failure to meet muscle-building goals.

05.01.2022 Ladies and Gentleman. We announce the Hammers squad to take on the students at Caloundra tomorrow at 2 pm. Hammers go into this second final without one bit of pressure on us to perform. From where we have come from to get to this day will fuel each man who wears the Hammers Jersey to try our best. University however will be carrying the burden into the game after their A grade was punished by the swans last weekend in a very tight contest and finished the season well be...low the expectations of the club and the reserve grade team where just defeated by Caloundra 2 weeks ago at Noosa. Our spirited bunch will leave nothing on the field tomorrow as we try our hardest to get a dance at the grand final day on the 31st.
