22.01.2022 Granola Bar Recipe! ---------------------- * 1 + cups of rolled oats * cup whole almonds * Heaping cup dried blueberries... * cup pistachios * cup ground flaxseed * cup walnuts * cup pepitas * cup sunflower seeds * cup pure maple syrup or honey * cup unsweetened apple sauce * 1 cup almond butter --------------------- INSTRUCTIONS 1. Line an 8"x 8" (or so) baking pan with parchment or wax paper such that the paper hangs over the edges (the pan I used is 7" x 10"). 2. Combine the first 8 ingredients in a large bowl and mix to combine. 3. Add maple syrup or honey and apple sauce and mix to combine. 4. Add almond butter to mixture and mix until combined. 5. Place batter in prepared pan pressing down firmly with palm of hands (or mini-roller if you have one) and distributing as evenly as possible. 6. Allow pan to sit in freezer for approximately 1 hour. 7. Remove pan from freezer. Lift singular slab from pan by lifting up on paper. Set slab down and gently peel paper away. Slice slab diagonally into 8 long bars and then cut each long bar in half to create a total of 16 bars. 8. I find these bars keep best in a sealed container/bag in the freezer. 9. I substituted the ground flaxseeds for LSA mix, and left out the pistachios because I couldn’t find any. For a lower cost option, substitute the almond butter for peanut butter --------------- NOTES The Crumble Factor - all natural bars do not contain fillers and binders that allow the bars to gel together the way manufactured commercials bars do. You will sacrifice some integrity (and have to put up with some crumbling) but on balance, I think the natural bar is worth the slight inconvenience. Outside the freezer these bars do not do as well but you could use travelling/lunchbox ice packs to keep them together somewhat. Substitutions & Deletions - you can substitute any nut/seed of choice (or nut/seed butter) or dried fruit as desired (sliced apricot, cranberries, cherries, dates & fig are all delicious here). However if you remove ingredient classes without replacing them, these bars will not work in the same way. See more

10.01.2022 As you may know, I am studying a degree in Nutrition at Endeavour in East Perth. I am now in my final year and doing practical training in the student clinic. I am currently taking on clients with the following needs: - Those struggling to either gain or lose weight - Have digestive complaints such as bloating, flatulence, heartburn, diarrhoea or constipation - Would like nutritional advice to support your immune system ... - Have had weight loss surgery and would like nutritional guidance - Are confused by all of the conflicting nutritional information found online and would like clarification - Need meal plan ideas and/or recipes for you or your family - Would like clarification regarding food allergies and intolerances such as gluten or dairy - Have a history of irregular eating patterns, binge eating, a love/hate relationship with food, or disordered eating I am studying to be a Clinical Nutritionist and am in my final year of studies at Endeavour College of Natural Health in East Perth. 07.01.2022 Yesterday I did a 24hour liquid cleanse. I trialled 5 new recipes that I hadn’t tried before and focused on juices that used primarily vegetables, with less fruit, to keep my daily sugar content down. It was funny timing as I was on my way back from the grocery store when lockdown news hit! And I had prepared my ingredients list etc the day before so was lucky.
