18.01.2022 What OTs have known for a long time. Handwriting appears to be intimately linked to our earliest efforts to read, improves our ability to recognise letters, spell and remember the material we are writing about

08.01.2022 And now for some present ideas for the under 5 year olds. Don't forget the old favourites Lego and Playdough. Using tools adds another element to Playdough fun - you can buy them, or get some spares from your kitchen. 05.01.2022 Poor Cinderella has to do the laundry for the whole house. Pegging out easy washing like socks and tea towels is a great way to work in hand and finger strength, bilateral skills, planning and organising as well as being helpful!

03.01.2022 Nessy Learning is giving away some of its great apps for free over the next few weeks. The first one on offer is Hairy Letters. It works on learning the alphabet and letter sounds, writing letters and simple letter combinations. Just a note about the letter writing - the child has to start and stop at the correct position, but can make errors in between. So if your child is new to learning letter formations, or finding them difficult, they will still need supervision in the early stages to lay down the correct motor patterns.

02.01.2022 What a lovely idea

01.01.2022 Christmas is 3 weeks today! If you need some stocking stuffer ideas, paediatric OTs find it hard to walk past a $2 shop without checking out some of the fun things inside...

01.01.2022 A bit of holiday inspiration if your kids are missing gym over the holidays. Genius!
