25.01.2022 Hello Southside friends, it's Friday and our market day is on again this Sunday morning. Being declared an essential food supply service the markets will contin...ue every week at this time. We want to support both our loyal customers and our awesome Aussie farmers, producers and makers. To do this we need to ask for your assistance in complying with the social distancing regulations that are now forming the way we all live. You will have access to coffee and takeaway breakfasts and all the best fresh produce, eggs, meats, breads and pastries. When you visit the markets we ask that you go about your shopping with all in mind, keep the 1.5 metre distance when forming a queue, please no groups sitting together and try your best to minimise your contact with produce and products as much as possible. This is not our usual times and if we can all help each other and comply to these new procedures, it will assist us all to keep our markets weekly. See you Sunday at Southside See more

19.01.2022 Capital Region Farmers Market is open this Easter Saturday 11th April 2020 from 7.30am to 11.30am, once again providing an essential food service to the Canberr...a community. Vehicle access is via Old Wells Station Road and pedestrian access via Gate 4 (Service Station entry). The safety of our shoppers and stallholders is number one priority each and every Saturday and as such we have very important rules for shopping with us this weekend. 1. Social Distancing - Please adhere to 1.5m distance between others at all times. 2. Shop and Go - Grab what you need and exit the market as soon as you can so we can keep shoppers flowing through the market. We'd love to chat and have a leisurely Saturday with you but it will have to wait until we are back to normal! 3. Only one person per household please. This also helps keeps numbers down. 4. Please wash your hands upon entry and exit at the market. We have handwash basins set up at each entry point. 5. Please follow our directions for the separate entry and exits into and out of the market. If shopper numbers exceed the space allowed within our market we will ask you to form a queue while enough people exit the market. We ask you to respect our volunteers who will assist you on where to queue. 6. If you are feeling unwell, have been in contact with someone from overseas, have been overseas yourself or if you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you do not attend the market. We will provide a list of stallholders attending by this Friday so you can plan your Easter shopping list! Thank you so much for your co-operation and once again we look forward to bringing you fresh produce straight from the farm!

Thank you to our customers last weekend who were well aware of space, stood back and kept the social distancing measures top of mind. We now ask for our community to work together to keep everyone safe. We are putting in as many measures as we can so that we can continue to access fresh food while also making sure we can follow social distancing to do out bit move through this situation. Please note that all vehicle access to the market during this time will be via Old Wells Station Road, and pedestrian... access via Gate 4 (Service station entry). As an essential food service providing fresh produce to the Canberra community we look forward to welcoming you to the market this weekend. But we do need to ask you to help us by following our new rules below: SHOP and GO! We would like to reduce the numbers of people congregating at the Market as much as possible and encourage all customers to shop and go. Only one member per household to attend. Why not ask if your neighbours need anything too? Keep 1.5m distance at all times Wash your hands upon arrival and exit. We have handwash stations available at each entrance. Please do not attend the market before 6.30am for your own safety, as Stallholders are setting up during this time. We are open until 11.30am with plenty of produce available. If you are feeling unwell, have been in contact with someone from overseas, have been overseas yourself or if you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you do not attend the market. We are right now working with all our stallholders to compile a list of those vendors who are able to take pre-orders and do home deliveries, thus further reducing crowds on site. 10.01.2022 Due to the forecast of strong winds for Canberra today, the 2019 Canberra Nara Candle Festival scheduled for this afternoon and evening has been cancelled. The ...decision has been made in the interest of public safety with winds forecasted at 45-55km/h, and gusts up to 70-80km/h this afternoon. This decision has taken into account the event location and temporary infrastructure installed in the park, as well as delays to event preparations caused by yesterday’s strong winds. The team at Events ACT would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the preparations for the 2019 event and we look forward to bringing the Canberra Nara Candle Festival back in 2020.

03.01.2022 OPEN THIS SATURDAY As an essential food service, Capital Region Farmers Market will remain open so that we can continue to offer the ACT community the opportuni...ty to purchase fresh regional food from known sources / growers at a time when there is a need to maintain food supply and healthy diets. We are taking the current situation very seriously and will be taking additional measures to minimise the risk of exposure to COVID-19 for our stallholders and customers. New measures include: Removal of all food sampling and tasting. Removal of all tables and seating to limit dwelling at the Market and to encourage social distancing. Spreading out stalls where possible. Increased hand washing and disinfecting surfaces on all stalls. We ask that our customers please: Do not attend the Market if you are in a high-risk category, have recently returned from overseas, are feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19. Do not bring your own ‘keep cups’ for the time being. Use handwashing facilities available at either end of the Market. Thank you to all of our customers for your support of our farmers during this difficult time. We know how important it is for you to be able to access fresh regional food to maintain health and wellbeing. We will continue to provide this opportunity to the ACT for as long we are able, however, we will remain reliant on advice provided by the Chief Minister’s Office and ACT Health for the best interests of the community.
