25.01.2022 This is a then and now picture! The "now" shows the new Crown tower at Baranagaroo alongside the HSBC and KPMG towers. I took that on Saturday. The "then" was taken just over 5 years ago on the 8th April 2015. In the "then"picture" the KPMG tower is just being constructed. The "marker" building for both photos is the Macquarie offices with the criss-cross design in the bottom right of each picture! Also notable in the "then" picture is the fact there are no ferry wharves yet... at Barangaroo. By using the engines to hold the boat against the wharf it means: 1) There is much less movement from the wash of the waves, making it more stable to walk onto. 2) There is no gap to step across (or get trapped in).
