These appointments will be with our colleague optometrist, Mark Hoffman. Mark has a Masters in Optometry and is Therapeutically qualified. At h2 Vision Centres, your consultation always begins with one of the team performing the following tests, specifically: OCT or Ocular Coherence Topography which is similar to a CT scan of the back of the eye where we examine the macula, optic disc and retina for eye conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. The next examination is a scan of the cornea, measuring the front curve, thickness and shape.... The same device will then check your eye pressures. This is one of the tests used to examine for glaucoma. Ultra-wide field laser retinal imagery is used to provide a 230 degree view of the retina, its vasculature and surface. (Normal fundus cameras scan only up to 45 degrees or 60 degrees meaning that they often miss eye disease e.g. diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments or melanomas). . . . See more
