25.01.2022 We're getting closer to full production of our modular nest box system that is thermally stable, long-lasting, and can be customised to suit a wide range of hollow using species. Featuring ultra-hard reinforced plastic that is 100% recycled and UV stable, with a timber internal nesting chamber, this is sure to be a game changer. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for further news as we aim to launch in early 2021.

25.01.2022 The Australian wood duck is a hollow nesting species. When the chicks hatch they have to take a leap of faith from the hollow long before they have the ability to fly. Large tree hollows like this take hundreds of years to form naturally. We need habitat solutions to provide nesting sites for these birds and many other species. A revolution is coming...

22.01.2022 If you like what you're seeing from us, why not get over to Twitter and give us a like there as well. Take a look at Habitech Australia (@HabitechA): https://twitter.com/HabitechA?s=09

21.01.2022 Many of our bushland reserves have been cleared in the past, meaning that they are dominated by young trees with a lack of hollows. Nest boxes can improve habitat in these areas by providing artificial hollows while natural tree hollows develop. Nest boxes with long service lives are desperately required. A revolution is coming...

19.01.2022 We're just a few short weeks away from some major announcements. We can't wait to show you what we've developed from our research and field testing. The future is looking very exciting.

19.01.2022 People often think of birds when discussing tree hollows, but many other animals use hollows in Australia including mammals - gliders and possums in particular. Artificial habitat is important for the future of many of these species. A revolution is coming...

14.01.2022 Did you know that 15% of Australia's terrestrial animals use tree hollows? With huge levels of competition for limited hollows they need all of the help that they can get. A revolution in nest boxes is coming...

10.01.2022 Over two years ago the founders of Habitech Australia sat on a hill and chatted about the shortcomings of #nest_boxes and the way that they're constructed. To date they have played a role in providing habitat for many species, but we've seen many fail after only a matter of years. That conversation set the wheels in motion for us to revolutionise the way nest boxes are developed and used to restore #habitat. We are nearly ready to reveal our revolution in nest boxes. Stay tuned.

10.01.2022 Bushfires take an incredible toll on our wildlife and providing assistance to the animals that survive is critical to restoring our native species. Nest boxes will be incredibly important in replacing the many tree hollows lost to fires. Providing nest boxes that are fit for purpose will be crucial to ensure the survival of many hollow dependent animals. A revolution in nest boxes is coming... 09.01.2022 Our nest boxes have been developed and extensively researched. Check out one of our early prototypes in this video.

08.01.2022 Take action to help our wildlife and threatened species recover from the recent devastating bushfires. Up to $12 million dollars is now available via an open, c...ompetitive grants program, for activities to prevent extinction and support the recovery of bushfire-affected wildlife and their habitats. Since the fires, there have been many offers of help and proposals for ways that communities, governments and non-government organisations can work together on recovery. Grants from $100,000 to $1 million are available to individuals and organisations for projects that can commence as soon as is practical and finish on or before 30 June 2021. COVID-19 may mean we have to change the way we do our work, but it hasn’t taken away the challenge we face in bushfire recovery. Information on eligibility criteria and how to apply is available via GrantConnect along with grant guidelines. The funds will be made available in at least two tranches. Tranche one grant applications close on 22 April, and Tranche two grant applications will close in late May. 06.01.2022 The research behind our new generation of nest boxes is hitting the media this week. Keep an eye out on this page for updates on when we will have these for sale. https://www.abc.net.au//3d-printed-plastic-hollow/12812606

06.01.2022 An amazing PhD opportunity exists to investigate a large scale - 500 hollows - chainsaw hollows project across the Central West of NSW.

01.01.2022 Tree hollows are a limiting resource for many hollow using animals - there simply aren't enough hollows to go around. Look at how hotly contested this single hollow is. A revolution in nest boxes is coming...
