21.01.2022 Do you think having your nails done damages your nails? Regardless of whether you have gel polish, Gel, Acrylic or Dipping powder no product should cause damage. Whattt??? I hear you say ... The number 1 cause of damage is how the product is removed. If it can be avoided never pick, bite or pry any product from the nail bed. Ways to avoid damage - Be sure to always chose a qualified well educated nail tech. - Avoid putting off your fill (ideally no more than 3 weeks) - If you have lifting, crack or break ensure you get it fixed as soon as you can. - Be careful how you use your nails. (Don’t use them as tools) Somethings are unavoidable in life and I’m certainly guilty of a couple of these but natural nail health and the longevity of your nail enhancements is my priority. This beautiful client came to me from another artist frustrated that her lashes weren’t lasting more than a week between fills. Unfortunately lockdown happened before I got to do a follow up infill but I did check in with her after two weeks and was so pleased to hear her lashes we’re still going strong . Clearly I am long and a little dramatic and I can tell you that changing the nappies of my 16month can be challenging with these babies Have you ever had your nails done and left unhappy because what you had in your mind was not what you ended up with? ... 09.01.2022 Well kinda! Nothing is set in stone and there’s still work to do before we get the green light but it is promising. We are certainly one of the lucky industries and there are a few that are still being forgotten (Arts industry I’m looking at you) please help small businesses where you can your small part my just go a long way to helping a small business stay alive... ... Being told that lashes (nails and beauty) aren’t essential, being shut for over 200 days of this year and still no definite date we can open again. ... But I wouldn’t change a minute of it (well of course I would...) In these months I’ve realized how much I love my job, I love lashing and I love the differences lashes make for you guys. We took beauty services for granted we started to loose sight of how much these services help our self esteem, our confidence and encourage women to love who they are... 05.01.2022 Do you celebrate Halloween? I know here in Australia not everyone believes or celebrates Halloween. Many believing it’s an American holiday or just an excuse to dress up and eat lollies but do you know the origin of Halloween? ... Many cultures view Halloween differently but traditional Halloween practices remain mostly the same. Halloween culture can be traced back to the Druids, a Celtic culture in Ireland, Britain and Northern Europe. It was originally a pagan holiday and revolves around the feast of Samhain (pronounced sow-in), which was held annually on October 31st to celebrate the end of the summer harvest and the beginning of the cold dark winter. They also believed the on this night the boundary between the living and the dead became blurred. Why the costumes you ask? Traditionally costumes were worn to ward off evil spirits, believed to bring illness, human death and failed crops. Halloween was also referred to as All Hallows Eve and dates back to over 2000 years ago. There is so much more to this tradition and I know I’ll be reading more on it. Whether you celebrate it or not I think we can agree that in the year that has been 2020 anything that puts a smile on out face is a good thing... Let me know below what you do for Halloween? 05.01.2022 Who’s day doesn’t get better when you hear the delivery man ... I would have to say that one of the the only things making this industry and personal lockdown bearable is being able to receive packages in the mail. Well that and all the amazing online education that is being released ... This week I’m learning new techniques, tricks and perfecting handmade volume fans... Volume lashes don’t have to be thick long heavy looking lashes and when applied with appropriately Volume is the perfect way to give you fullness and density to your lash line. With the proper styling can really enhance, open up and give you that I woke up like this look. My priority is to give you the results you love while keeping your natural lashes as strong and as healthy as possible. Yes that is possible! 05.01.2022 Has iso had you picking off old product or biting out of boredom or stress? Nail biting and picking is a very common habit and is one that is hard to break. Whether out of boredom, stress or an anxious habit it can leave you fingers and nail beds sore, sharp and you most likely wanting to hide your nails from the world... Never fear not all is lost.... One of the main reasons I love being a nail tech is to help people overcome this habit or at least make you less inclined to attack them.
