21.01.2022 Hi all, this letter was sent home this afternoon in response to the statewide lockdown announcement earlier today. We hope everyone stays safe, calm and looks after each other. We will have a skeleton staff at school tomorrow to supervise students of essential workers. To everyone else please take care. We will update you as soon as more information becomes available. If you need anything please contact us at the school. Adam COVID-19 parent letter... Dear parent/caregiver, Today the Premier announced a 6 day statewide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November. Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school or preschool / child care. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them. All students have been asked to take home school laptops/devices, books and anything they need to continue their learning from home. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions. All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family. Your child’s teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can. Regards, Adam Blakely

20.01.2022 Room 1 have been investigating 3D perspectives. What is 3D? How can I make something 3D? This was also used in English too. The students have been learning about the importance of characters in stories. They gave their art an identity and wrote about them. They will then write about their character in a narrative this week.

15.01.2022 On Friday 14th August 14 enthusiastic students from Hahndorf PS competed in the Round 1 SAPSASA Knockout Soccer Carnival. There were 4 schools competing, each playing 3 games. Our boys won 2 out of 3 games and finished second on the day. Mt Barker South PS were the eventual winners and now proceed to the next round. We wish them the best. The Hahndorf PS students were exhausted at the end of the day and should be really proud of their efforts and positive attitudes. A big thanks to Mt Barker South PS for hosting and organising the event. Thanks also to the many parents from our school that attended and cheered on our team and to Shane Sickerdick, who helped with umpiring and transporting students.

13.01.2022 Knockout Netball Round 2 Sadly our school netball team has been knocked out of the competition. The girls fought bravely but were defeated in both games played on Monday 31/8/20 at the Woodside Netball Courts. Woodside PS and Aldgate PS were both strong teams, with Aldgate PS winning both of their games and progressing to the next round. Our team demonstrated positive attitudes and they should be proud of reaching the second round of the competition. Thanks to the parents that assisted with transportation and cheered the team on. A big thanks to Melissa Stapleton for umpiring on the day and Brenton Canty for scoring and time keeping.
12.01.2022 Today Room 7 celebrated their learning with a display of their Mechanica project. The quality of their learning, design and construction is amazing and is a culmination of their investigation into the book ‘Mechanica’.

02.01.2022 Crazy Hair Day today - organised by our amazing student leaders for Canteen (supporting kids and families with cancer). The kids’ hair looks brilliant - the amount of effort that has gone into this is a credit to all parents, caregivers and older siblings. You are very talented (I struggle to put my daughter’s hair into a ponytail! ) Our year 7 students took great delight in doing Wendy’s hair this morning!
