20.01.2022 We are looking for Volunteers to join our fun team - specifically Friday’s & Monday’s. We have volunteers across all age groups and many have been here for years as they love it so much! Full training will be provided, but some retail experience is ideal as well as good communication and people skills to greet all of our lovely customers As a volunteer you will be able to receive a generous 20% Discount off all the beautiful items in the shop, but most importantly you will have the opportunity to work with a fun, happy and supportive group in a dynamic environment that supports the Arts Community of SA and the vibrant community of Hahndorf. 04.01.2022 We enjoy getting to know the artists when they exhibit with us, hearing about their art practice is always interesting and especially with Andrew Stattmann who is a prolific artist and avid cyclist who resides in and traverses the Adelaide Hills constantly drawing. He captures the region so well with his work, these drawings are not drawn from photographs, he sits in the landscape and sketches - en plein air, then continues to work on them in his studio. We also enjoy his qu...irks and dry sense of humour. All these works are available on our website as this exhibition concludes on Sunday December 6, they will be available for viewing online and we offer layby plus purchasing art for businesses has some tax saving advantages and it’s such a great way to invest in art and support artists. http://hahndorfacademy.org.au/exhibition//andrew-stattmann

03.01.2022 The Adelaide Hills in all their glory! Wonderful works by Andrew Stattmann who sits on the roadside in the Hills and draws, he has chats with passers-by who are curious to see what he is doing, he has been mistaken for being a burglar, water board inspector to name a few! And I’m sure his dry sense of humour will keep the curious entertained. Make sure you visit the gallery to see his exhibition which concludes on December 6. 02.01.2022 Intro to Pottery 6 week course for 2021 with Marie Littlewood this course is targeted for beginners and is a great introduction to working with clay using a variety of techniques including hand building, decorating and wheel throwing.
