25.01.2022 Today, 24th November, Stephen and I celebrate 30 years of marraige. I look back on these years absolutely amazed with what we have achieved together. The most important of course, is we have raised 4 beautiful children to become 4 amazing human beings! A lifetime of highs and lows, i am blessed to walk alongside this gentle-man i call my husband. God willing we will achieve another 30 years!

All secure, all insured, all handled with so much care. So if your worried about coming in to our store during the isolation going on, you are welcome to send us your items. If you are local there are also options of local couriers, or we are happy to organise for us to personally pick up and deliver your items in a non contact way. We are happy to do what works best with you. If these are things your interested in finding out more about, please phone or message us and we will be more then happy to help you out! We pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship and we don’t rush through jobs, but there is just not enough hours in the day. We are still doing quotes as quickly as we can, but no work will be done until January. A: Your jewellery is carefully assessed and is then valued using current market research. 19.01.2022 While the world was in lock-down, the Gemological Institue of America and DeBeers opened up a couple of their Diploma Courses for International Online students. So, of course Matthew & I had nothing better to do so we jumped in and did more study! We are going to need bigger walls!

18.01.2022 Facts about Lapis Lazuli 1. Lapis Lazuli was discovered more than 6000 years ago. The oldest deposits are located in the difficult terrain of the West Hindi-Kush Mountains in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is still known to produce the finest quality of Lapis and is also the most significant source. . 2. Lapis Lazuli was used in Ancient Egypt. King Tut’s mask is inlaid partly with this semi-precious stone. .... 3. It was, and still is, used for more than Jewellery. It is made into different objects including bowls, figures, hair combs and much more, all through carving techniques. . 4. The famous Italian Painter and Sculptor, Michelangelo, used ground Lapis Lazuli to produce and ultramarine coloured pigment for some of his paintings during the Renaissance period. . 5. Ammolite is a trade name given to a thin iridescent aragonite shell material that is found on two species of extinct ammonite fossils, so it is a ‘Fossilised Shell’. The colour-producing shell layer of Ammolite is usually very thin (often less than one millimetre) and attached to a dark grey to brown base of shale or siderite. Exceptional pieces can be cut into gems without stabilization. Most Ammolite is used to produce triplets. These are made by backing the fragile iridescent material with a thin slab for stability and topping it with a transparent cover for protection. Some Ammolite is made into doublets, which only requires adding a backing or transparent cover as needed.

03.01.2022 Internal Wonderland This little ‘leguan’ is the perfect sample of a vertebrate to be found embedded inside Amber. It measures 71mm. It is the oldest and only complete fossil of its genus. Dominican Amber 25-36 million years old. This extremely rare sample is in the Natural History Museum of Basel in Switzerland.

We want you all to know that we have put in as many procedures as we can to keep our clients, as well as our staff safe.
