24.01.2022 What a pleasure interviewing chef Adam Banks whilst he kneaded pasta dough the other week, for an article promoting his Italian cookery course on Saturday September 5th at Philleigh Way Cookery School cookery school. It was a really insightful conversation, ranging across his love for Italian food and it’s culture, the importance of provenance and honouring producers, and some of the advice he’s received and passed along during his impressive career to date. It’s well worth clicking through to their Foodie Blog for a read. 15.01.2022 The latest @finisterreuk featured artist collection of womenswear came off the desk of this talented illustrator, @clara.m.jonas. You should check it out, it’s all sorts of ancient and eastern civilisation inspired surf goddess goodness. Clara is a proper in-demand artist, and rightly so. You could say she’s destined to go places, but truth is she’s already at most of them Currently based in Hossegor , when she’s back in the UK she often takes advantage of Hailer’...s co-working space to come and get shit done. Which is really nice, because as well as being a great illustrator she’s also good company. Desk numbers are currently limited because of you-know-what, but there’s one space available tomorrow if you want to come and check if Clara left any of that magic behind on her desk. Which is unlikely to be honest, because of the whole wipe down all surfaces policy going on right now. DM to secure that spot. 14.01.2022 Meet @fruut.box Specifically, meet Katie - the boss mum behind this amazing new plastic-free fruit and veg box delivery service aimed primarily at the needs of young families. FruutBox was slated to launch in the summer, but the spring lockdown and the obvious needs of their local community brought those plans forward. Katie got in touch and we ended up doing some remote consultation and coaching sessions to provide some direction and confidence to what they were doing. T...hen in late summer a space became available on Hailer’s regular content marketing roster, they said yes please and here we are! This year awareness of the need for shorter supply chains and food security has been pushed to the front (cos COVID ), but Fruutbox’s other big push and raison d’être is to help people reduce their plastic footprint. They’re doing this by making their single-use plastic-free fruit and veg boxes consistent in terms of contents and quality, and affordable. That way, young families (like theirs) can easily switch from plastic-wrapped supermarket produce to a Fruutbox without having to work out what the hell they’re going to do with a dragon fruit or Romanesco broccoli.
