17.01.2022 The Six Givens are a mainstay in each Junior School classroom, two of which are high expectations and presentation. Our Year 4 students have been working hard throughout the year on their cursive handwriting skills, culminating in the achievement of the much revered ‘pen licence’! Well done to Annie on reaching such a marvellous milestone today!

17.01.2022 The Book Week fun continued at Castlefield today with our Year 3 students dressing the part! Amy, Monica and Jaya took inspiration from the book series 'Little People, Big Dreams' and came dressed as inspirational historical figures Amelia Earhart, Ada Lovelace and Frida Kahlo. The students and staff are so happy to be celebrating Book Week on campus together!

16.01.2022 Even though we've been zooming away each day, life is just not the same for our Year 8 teachers at Edrington who really miss seeing the smiling faces of their students in person. We are very excited to have all our students back together on Haileybury campuses next week! We miss you!

16.01.2022 There is still plenty of exploring to be done this year! The City Pre-Prep and Reception children enjoyed a virtual learning experience with the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria Minibeast sessions. This online session allowed the children to explore relationships between plants and insects and how invertebrates help gardens grow.

15.01.2022 Our ELC children are certainly making the most of this gorgeous spring weather! This week they have enjoyed planting their own gardens with assorted herbs and vegetables. In addition to experiencing the joy of being outdoors, activities such as these help children develop a sense of responsibility. They are also learning about fresh food and the importance of healthy eating.

14.01.2022 Cooking, building, painting, dancing, reflection.the Pre-Senior City Option looked a little different in 2020! In the past, Year 9 students have participated in Haileybury’s Expedition and Options Program, which delivers unforgettable international and local off-campus experiences. Due to safety restrictions, the students were not able to visit Melbourne’s CBD, so the program was redesigned with online learning technology. This jam-packed week saw our Year 9 students get cre...ative with a painting masterclass and refine their culinary skills with the art of pizza making! Fitness was also on the agenda with energetic Zumba classes and virtual visits from exceptional Australian athletes and Old Haileyburians Cody Weightman (OH 2019), Josh Beaver (OH 2011) and Laetisha Scanlan (OH 2007). Students demonstrated that even through distance, we are still linked. The students finished the week by building time capsules reflecting their unique learning experiences this year, which will be returned to them in Year 12.

10.01.2022 Like all our students, Jack fully embraced online learning. But for him, there is a little more distance involved... Jack’s family are currently in NSW, and he has been ‘Zooming’ into lessons remotely. Using technology that automatically follows the classroom participants’ voice and teacher movement, Jack can interact with the class and move around on an iPad swivel stand, which his classmates love! Staff have readily embraced yet another opportunity to supersede geographical limitations, ensuring that Jack’s high-quality education continues.
