Laminated glass is a term that is likely to pop up if you ever hire a glazier. So what is it exactly?... Well, it's a type of glass where at least two glass sheets are bonded together with a plastic interlayer (PVB polyvinyl butyral) between them. Laminated glass is safety glass. Upon sufficient force the glass will crack or break, however, will remain intact and in one piece rather than falling apart. So we were surprised to find this shattered glass was mostly still in tact when we arrived at the job. Pictured on the left - a toughened, fixed panel sliding door, which broke.
