23.01.2022 Things progressing nicely considering the heat. Added more manure to the second planter box.

22.01.2022 Lettuce coming through!

21.01.2022 Call for winter planting! Garden looks good, with lots of space for winter crops. Any suggestions friends? Added a heap of lettuce seeds tonight in some of the bare spaces. They are last season so may not take.... Looks like the council have cut right back the large corner tree. Looks much more open. Some minor fence repairs needed, and some one has had a go at destroying the sign. But it still stands :-)

20.01.2022 It's mulch time! Another productive day - mulch and manure. Looks great and will help keep the moisture in the soil.

19.01.2022 Great to see those that came to the Planning Meeting last night. We met to discuss options in response to the recent vandalism\damage to the garden. Outcome of the meeting was; to trial a security camera, in hopes it will be enough of a deterrent. If we continue to get undesirable activity in the garden we can move to putting a fence in to control access. We will put this proposal to the City of Wanneroo and see how we go. Will keep everyone updated.

19.01.2022 Where to find the garden. Message us today to get involved!

19.01.2022 Update: regarding garden vandalism and council consultation - We are still working through the options at this stage. In the meantime the garden is still open and available for planting and tending to.

18.01.2022 Some nice looking zucchinis!

17.01.2022 Planted some beetroot varieties on Saturday. Thanks Candis for providing the seedlings! The other spinach and kale seedlings are looked well established. We pulled up the zucchini plants that had started dying off, and left a couple that were still producing.

13.01.2022 Anyone have any good pesto recipes theyd like to share. The garden has plenty of basil at the moment.

13.01.2022 Some handy info there.

13.01.2022 Another nice looking harvest. Still plenty there. How to know when beetroot is read? You should start to see good 1\8 of the beetroot sticking out of the ground. When around the size of a small apple they are likely good to go

11.01.2022 Did some weeding today. We have some baby quince on the tree

10.01.2022 Beautiful red rich beetroots from the garden! Much of the winter crop will be ready soon. Get down when you can, do some weeding and grab something that is ready everyone.

09.01.2022 May be of interest to everyone

09.01.2022 Added a new lattes for the newly planted beans. They will need training as they grow, so pop in and give them a helping hand

08.01.2022 With great disappointment, what many other community gardens said would inevitably happen, has indeed happened. The most successful and productive patch of the garden has been trashed

07.01.2022 Goats and cream cheese stuffed zucchini flowers, battered and shallow fried. YUM!

05.01.2022 Big shout out to the Wanneroo Times for an awesome article! https://www.communitynews.com.au//girrawheen-edible-garde/

05.01.2022 Great to see those that came down for winter planting! Loads of plants have gone in: spinach, beans, peas, lettuce, chilli, asparagus. The garden is at full planting capacity - so please tread carefully as new shoots will be coming through.
