23.01.2022 TOWNSVILLE ROADS CLOSED AND GIRU RESIDENTS ACT NOW Black River and Bluewater Creek: Major flood levels are now rising on the Bluewater Creek while minor fl...ood levels are rapidly rising on the Black River. Bohle River: Moderate flood levels are rising on the Bohle River at Hervey Range Road. The Burdekin Shire Council is urging residents who wish to leave Giru to act now, as the river is rising. The Haughton River in Giru is at 2.8m, and according to the council it is predicted to reach 3.00m later today. Flash flooding is occurring across Townsville, with the Bluewater being particularly impacted. Emergency crews are attempting to rescue two people and a dog from a home at Bluewater Park. ROAD INFORMATION: * Bruce Highway between Forrestry Road and Deep Creek closed * The Lower Bohle Bridge has been closed due to water over the road, and traffic is being diverted onto the Upper Bohle Bridge on Woolcock Street * Abbott St between Oonoonba Road and the Bruce Highway is closed * Mount Spec Road closed on the Paluma range due to landslip * Hervey Range closed on the range due to landslips * Woodstock Giru Road closed * Ayr Ravenswood Road closed at Scotts Creek * Bluewater residents are being advised there is a large amount of water on roads in the area * Bruce Highway - lanes reduced in various locations, but traffic is flowing Townsville police inspect the rising water level in Ross Dam (Tom Edwards)

It’s important for ...stylists and clients to know about filters and the effects they have on hair. Filters are the latest trend influencers and some hair stylists are using to edit their photos. Filters are beautiful but not REAL. Filtered photos of hair are usually not realistic. You might be in love with the filter more than you are the real hair. Look how I used a filter adjusted the blonde in this photo. It’s a gorgeous picture and one that I’m sure would bring in a ton of engagement but I would be lying about the work and my ability if I posted it. Clients: be aware of this when choosing your inspiration photos to bring to a stylist. I find myself saying, well, that girl’s hair doesn’t even look like that in reality far too often. Try to pick unfiltered photos for your inspiration shots. You can usually click on the models tagged photos and find some unfiltered shots. Stylists- stop comparing yourself and your work to all of these filtered photos. It’s time we educate our clients on what these filters are doing and be realistic on what is achievable - behindthechair.com

05.01.2022 At Jr's Hair Studio we have scheduled our day down to the minute. This means even if you are 5-10 mins late this will put our timing out and have an effect on other appointments through out the day. Being a small business no shows and last minute cancellations enormously disadvantage our business. This also means that other clients can not book these time slots. We understand that sometimes last minute things do come up and you may need to reschedule your appointment. We kind...ly ask that you give at least 24 hrs notice prior to your appointment to avoid turning away other clients. If you are running late, please give us a courtesy call to ensure we will be able to still complete your service in the adequate time. Unfortunately not arriving on time to an appointment then delays the next person's appointment and has a snow ball effect on the rest of our day, which isn't fair to us or our other clients. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late we will have to either reschedule your appointment or we will try to accomodate you as best we can with what time we have for the service you have booked in for. If an appointment is missed more than twice you will be asked to provide debit/credit card details on booking the next appointment and charged the full amount for the service prior to arrival of that booking. We cannot give our clients 100% if we are pushed for time. Please consider our time too. If you have any questions on our new booking policy please feel free to give us a call. Thank you! 47822304 x
