19.01.2022 Is the sun making your blonde hair dull and brassy? You always leave the salon with bright, creamy blonde hair but now it's starting to turn yellow and it's losing its shine.. Why? I'll list some of the most common reasons below ... TOO MUCH BLONDE SHAMPOO Yep, there is such a thing! Simply put, the more you use it, the more the shampoo builds up on the hair, the darker/duller your hair appears I recommend using a toning shampoo when you actually need it or every 2 weeks. Try alternating with a nourishing shampoo on your weeks off, your hair will thank you ENVIRONMENTAL & MINERAL Are you a beach babe? Overexposure to the sun, salt water and/or chlorine is a great way to encourage brassiness in blonde hair. These elements strip the hair of moisture and leave the hair dull and damage prone which then results to increased colour fade! 17.01.2022 Are you a brunette whose hair ALWAYS fades to orange? Wanna know why that happens? KEEP READING ... Hair colour has 10 different levels of tone. The lowest being a level 1 (black) and the highest being a level 10 (lightest blonde) and each level has an 'underlying pigment'. Underlying pigment is the building block of what makes up your level of colour and is what you're colour is always going to fade to after 4-8 weeks of washing. This beauty's hair is a level 5 and her underlying pigment is orange-red (second slide), so to counteract that, I used a level 5 blue-green toner (third slide) to achieve a more appealing shade of brunette. So, what can you do to help prevent this from happening to you? 1. Make sure you're using a salon quality, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner at home 2. Try using a blue-based shampoo that's designed for brown hair (purple shampoo won't work, girl) 3. The simple answer is that some scalps like to create oil in excess - YAYYY Sebum (oil) on the scalp does however serve a purpose, which is to moisturise, protect and aid in keeping your hair and scalp healthy. ... So, what could be making it worse? WASHING TOO FREQUENTLY Washing your hair too often can cause an increase in sebum production because when we remove it too regularly, the scalp overcompensates for that loss by CREATING MORE Try decreasing your wash days to once every 2nd or 3rd day instead! BUT THE GYM, CHAR! But have you met my bestie, dry shampoo? It's an absolute must for my gym babes aswell as my lazy babes (meeeee) that think of washing your hair as a chore! All surfaces will be disinfected before and after each client and all magazine materials have been removed. Hand sanitiser is supplied at each station to be used as often as you feel is required. I will be working purely on a one-on-one basis. You will be the only client in the salon during your appointment time. I ask that all clients attend their appointment by themselves and to please wait outside if when you arrive for your appointment, I'm still with the previous client. Please bring any drinks you would like with you, as water/tea/coffee will not be supplied. If you're feeling unwell or experiencing flu-like symptoms, please reschedule your appointment. Service will be refused to anyone that attends their appointment sick and a fee of 50% of your expected appointment $ total will be charged. Please let me know asap if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Any appointments that are cancelled/rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice will be required to pay 50% of their expected appointment $ total before the appointment will be rescheduled. This fee will be credited towards your next appointment.
