17.01.2022 #HairAidHeroes making a difference one haircut at a time A new Hair Aid campaign launched is inviting hair salons across Australia to join a global community to support people facing poverty and hardship across the globe. #HairAidHeroes is Hair Aid’s flagship campaign to support the critical work they do across the world. The Hair Aid story began in 2010 when founder and CEO, Selina Tomasich, was holidaying in the Philippines when she met two nuns living in Manila. Starting... up a conversation with Sister Kate, a fellow Australian, and Sister Claudia from Canada, Selina heard about the work the Sisters did with children abandoned on the streets of Manila whose parents were too poor to feed them. Their story touched Selina's heart and motivated her to help. Today, that help is delivered through Hair Aid’s two core functions: 1. International Projects - sending teams of hairdressers to poverty-stricken areas in developing countries to teach people hairdressing skills so they can set up their own micro-business. 2. Community Cuts - providing free haircuts to support people in the community who need a helping hand. When I started Hair Aid I really wanted to create a platform for everyday people like hairdressers to make a difference for people facing hardship and poverty both in Australia and overseas, Ms Tomasich said. I have been blown away by the support we have received since we started and this support has allowed us to expand our activities globally. However, we still have so much more work to do, and by joining #HairAidHeroes, salons and hairdressers can provide their own level of support and help us to continue our mission to make a difference one haircut at a time. Funds raised through the #HairAidHeroes campaign will be used to ensure the critical work of Hair Aid continues. Joining is easy and takes three steps: 1. Donate $100 which will go toward supporting Hair Aid to do the work that we do. 2. Commit to participating in Hair Aid’s Global Cut-A-Thon or holding a raffle in your salon. 3. Sign up to the Hair Aid newsletter. You’ll get a decal to stick on your salon or on your car to show your dedication towards Hair Aid to the wider community. As well we have a suite of social media tiles that you’ll be able to share on your socials to let your clients know your commitment to community and social responsibility To complete the three steps and join #HairAidHeroes, salons can visit www.hairaid.org.au/hairaidheroes For more information, please contact Selina on 0423 923 434 See more

09.01.2022 Formal night celebrations ! tIn the South Australian community, there It is a one off event for young men and women that may not have the financial ability to get their hair done for their upcoming formal. There is an organisation that is arranging for dresses and suits and shoes and jewellery and hair and nails to be done. They’ve invited Hair Aid to be part of this event. ... This will be more upstyling, not a Hair Aid Community Cuts event. .Please let me know if you’re keen on this one. It might be a case where the young people can come into your salon, and have the head on there. These are people being supported in community through foster care etc etc As always I thank you very much for your time and commitment and your passion to your craft and using this to help change the lives of others. I appreciate that not everyone can participate in all the events, but I do appreciate when you can. Thank you very much for being part of an initiative that is helping so many people.
