So as well as obviously having @olaplex used in your colour and using the olaplex take home treatment we are now offering insalon express olaplex basin treatments & intense personalised olaplex basin treatments. 12.01.2022 This ones for all the hairdressers out there One comment that gets thrown around a lot is - " she's JUST a hairdresser " I'm always so unsure why hairdressers are sometimes stereotyped or made out that " we just became hairdressers because we aren't smart enough to become anything else " Yeah, most of us dropped out of school & no, we didn't go to uni for years on end & my god I may only speak for myself but I cannot spell for shit ... I recently had a internet troll call me a blonde bimbo for using the word " their" when I should of used "they're " - oh no look out, Jess lewis made a spelling mistake Does that make me any less of a person, because my spelling isn't perfect? I honestly couldn't tell you capital cities of every state & Iv never understood politics - wow, end of the world. You kinda get the point I'm making right ? But just because im not " book smart" does that make me " stupid or dumb " God, if it is, I guess my business is doing okay for a dumb gal So hairdressers, if your ever made to feel like " your JUST a hairdresser " - remember that you have the greatest and most rewarding job anyone could ever hope for. 05.01.2022 Okay, so lets talk about home hair care and why its so important for all you babes out there to use salon branded / professional brands only. I know sometimes its not in everyones budget or main priority to use professional brands BUT if your going to spend hundreds on your hair colour why wouldnt you want to spend an extra $10-$20 on products you know are going to look after both your hair and colour. Im not going to use big fancy words to try and explain / educate you all,... as all hairdressers need our clients to understand why it is so important for you to understand and be honest with what is being used on your hair. What a lot of clients dont know is unprofessional brand shampoos ARE NOT GOOD for your hair or hair colour. Unprofessional brands contain a certain type of silicone. These silicones build up on the hair over time and then when it comes time to colouring your hair a lovely thing called a chemical reaction happens. And yep, its as bad as it sounds. When bleach & this silicone come in contact with one another a chemical reaction is caused, including : hair breakage, hair damage, extreme heat & im talking HOT, colour lifts uneven, toners unable to deposit correctly, immediate colour fade, oh and did i mention hair breakage? When colouring a client in the salon and we notice a chemical reaction begin ( not having the full knowledge of whats been used on the hair ) we are forced to rinse the colour out immediately, leaving your hair underprocsessed and not the desired colour you came in for. We cannot stress enough how important it is to be honest with your hairdresser with what you use on your hair - because we care. Please NEVER be mad if your hairdresser says they can't do your hair due to using unprofessional products, they are only doing what's best for your hair & wanting to give you the best results whilst leaving the hair in the best condition possible.
