We always see photos of how di...fferent lighting can affect colour on the hair but there is hardly any video evidence to back this up. In this bowl I mixed up a beautiful olive green shade...or did I mix a really nice warm brown...or how about a light rosy copper? Then throw in the background colour of the bowl and brush. Who actually knows what I was aiming for. Now watch what happens as I move from natural light, through some artificial cool white led light, a mixture of both, overhead warm white and back to a different window for natural light. Each area of light gives my colour completely different totality. So just make sure when mixing your direct dye you involve your client so then you both agree it's the correct shade before you apply. Show this to your clients. Let them know something similar can happen to their hair once it's on their head. If you don't, don't let them bully you into thinking you didn't use the correct colour. You did. Lighting just sucks.
