25.01.2022 Dont worry no ones in trouble I know that not everyone is planner like me and knows what they are doing on this day in exactly 6 months time like I do Because I book out so quickly I know clients that wouldnt normally book in advance are forced to or they will potentially miss out. So I am hoping with the weekly reminders now also that this will help ... With these changing and unpredictable times since Covid I have had a big increase in daily cancellations due to illness with everyone needing to be so cautious now. Its great that everyone is doing the right thing! However it is also more challenging to run a business now so Im trying do what I can to help keep a steady workflow. Thanks to everyone for your understanding

25.01.2022 Hi My two weeks off in preparation for my mri is done (for those that dont know, I have a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis that mainly affect my si joints) The rest and relaxation part didnt quite go to plan at first! 3 days in my son broke his arm. Poor kid had a really bad break of both the arm bones. If there was any good time to break an arm though, now was it as I had the planned time off. I was able to be at the school within minutes to go in the ambulance... with him and not leave anyone with half a haircut or colour! Just when I thought I was out of the woods not having a flare up, I got to 10 days in and the real intense pain kicked in and it was bad. I went from being up and about with a few aches and pains to barely being able to walk the next day. I had to wait it out for a few horrible days till I had my mri and the minute it was over I was able to take my medication and got some relief within hours. Im back to work as of tomorrow as my pain has settled a lot though I may move a little slower than normal and Im resting any time I get over the next week. Grateful for my husband, family, friends and clients that all give me so much care & support during these times See more

25.01.2022 Slowly working our way to a grey/ash blonde to eventually start growing out her natural grey. Today was only the first step. My client is aware with the previous chocolaty and caramel warm tones means its going to be a gradual process. Today was all about breaking down some of that old colour by doing half a head of foils and a few darker ash lowlights creating a light ash brown. Watch this space over the next few months!

22.01.2022 After 2020 got in the way of her hair plans, my client was originally booked for April but things just didn’t work out for her to get back in to go lighter with her color. After going to another salon in between she got the lightness but the aim today was to get more of a blend and tone out the coppery colour. What a difference it makes! We also added some layers into her cut which gives a lot more texture and body to her hair.

You may have never used a salon brand and would like to notice and feel the difference between that and a supermarket one. Whatever the reason please dont hesitate to ask me if you would like to try any of the range and I can organize a little sample for you to try a couple of washes

19.01.2022 2020 Done & Dusted I don’t often like to define each year as being a good or bad year but I will say 2020 was a challenging year. As for most, it was a year of ups and downs and running a business had some extra challenges! These were made up for by the extra family time we got when the world just stopped for a while and I think we all learnt to just slow down a little. ... Earlier this year with all the extra time off I didn’t think I’d ever feel like I needed a break anytime soon but, it’s felt like any normal Christmas rush this year (thanks to #markmcgowan #luckytoliveinwa ) and I’m looking forward to some time off! THANK YOU for all the amazing gifts I received too! I have been utterly spoilt! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year (Salon reopening Monday 4th Jan 2021)

Both are great! (on the right person) Textured bobs have a more subtle shape and less maintenance at home. 14.01.2022 The things you do to have long hair!! This is the not so glamorous part of having hair extensions Every 8 weeks I need to have my colour done and have the tapes moved up again as they have grown down about 1.5 inches and start to get tangly. Its pretty much a 3 day process and this is the second time doing it so I was more prepared this time than last for what a crappy job it is Last time I was wondering if it was worth it but then when I had my two days witho...ut them I realized it is! DAY ONE- Remove them by using an oil based dissolvent. This takes about 1 hour and its very fiddly as you have to remove the strips of double sided tape off 60 pieces Pin them onto a foam head in the exact same position they came out from as they have been cut into shape Wash and dry my hair to remove any excess glue Wash each piece individually doing 2 shampoos and one condition, towel dry then place onto a different foam head in the exact spot (I found this easier to just have 2 foam heads than putting back into the same one as I work from the bottom up) This takes about another hour I then leave them to dry naturally overnight as quite frankly Im over it by then DAY TWO Get my hair colored Use straighteners to smooth all the extension pieces DAY THREE You have to wait 24 hours after coloring your hair to have them put back in. Before having them put back in I have to shampoo, blowdry and straighten my hair ready for them to go in again. Take my foam head and hair and off I go to have them put back in again by my friend. At this stage as I pass them to her I put new double sided tape on each piece and she pops them in. This only takes about 30-40 mins. Now no washing it for at least 2-3 days. Pour a big fat glass of wine and relax till the next 8 weeks!

11.01.2022 September Today marks the start of my crazier than usual time of year in the salon. Warmer weather, weddings, parties and just more socializing in general means more hairstyles! ... As most of my clients know, I have already got a cancellation/wish list of preference for appointments especially in December, as I am already booked out. Things change all the time so I usually make my way through the list pretty well. For the past almost 7 years Ive have gotten to know my clients very well, remembering their days off, special occasions, preference on times, if they have kids to pick up from school, if its a priority to have their hair done Xmas week or early December in time for Xmas parties, some who prefer to skip the Xmas rush altogether and wait till January and the ones that prioritize that Me Time the first week of February that the kids go back to school So please let me know if you have preference for an appointment in the next 3 months and if you are on the list Ill do my very best to get you in!

01.01.2022 The visual story of going a grey color. My client wanted to change her usual hair color of chocolate and caramel tones to a soft grey to help blend in the natural greys that were coming through. I get asked to do this often but once I explain the long lengthy process it takes over numerous appointments, it’s enough to put people off!
