We are not a big fan of anything that claims to smooth/ straighten using just keratin ( as we are very educated hairdressers and understand our science). PS - no professional hairdressers use Tresemme so that’s a big lie too !!!

17.01.2022 When your client brings you in lemons and you find that they have grown the biggest lemon in the world ! Looks like I’ll be making a lot of lemon butter this weekend

16.01.2022 This week has been such a diverse one - full of colour

16.01.2022 Our henna brows can be light and soft. We start by mapping the brow to give a better shape. We then apply the henna to create the shape and wax where needed. The henna can tint the skin to give the appearance of a fuller brow. With the correct aftercare this result will gradually fade but should last for weeks. Please note that a patch test (or signed waiver) is required 48 hrs prior to treatment.

15.01.2022 For all of our colour loving clients. We will no longer be stocking Manic Panic as we are a bit over not being able to get stock ( comes from America). You know we love an Australian owned and made brand so we now use Staino by the fabulous Evo company. We can mix n match to make any colour of the rainbow . The direct dye approach means longer lasting results too. We do have a few manic panic tubs if anyone would like to buy them. Bring on the colour fun

12.01.2022 Congratulations to our lovely Abbey. This is her last week as an apprentice as she qualifies to the dizzy heights of Hair Dare You’s next senior stylist. Abbey isn’t one to boast but we are! So here goes .... She came to us over 3 years ago as a shy, timid, quiet young lady. Getting her to answer the phone was our first hurdle, booking appointments freaked her out! She continued to give the best hair wash and head massage even though her hands were raw from dermatitis. She a...ttended tafe and never missed an hour there. She was awarded WA apprentice of the year and was due to compete in the world skills competition ( then Covid happened). She has diligently applied herself to every aspect of her training. She’s not once complained about being tired or fed up about doing the same repetitive thing, because she knew that that ,was how she would master that skill. Every thing that we have asked of her she has done with 100% enthusiasm and commitment . Her work is perfect because she concentrates on delivering a result that’s 100% on point as this is very important to her. She has never been late to work , in fact she is always the first in the salon and is forever putting her hand up if we need someone to work later. She has had 1 & 1/2 days sick leave in over 3 years! Yes 1 1/2 - and I believe we had to send her home on one of those occasions despite her insisting to stay,even though she was very unwell. This girl saved to buy her 1st car outright and is on her way to saving for her house deposit. I would like to publicly congratulate our girl Abbey. I’d also like to publicly thank her family for supporting her through her apprenticeship and for raising such an awesome kid. We love you Abbey. You are the standard that others should be willing to achieve. And yes of course she is staying with us See more

11.01.2022 We found her! Please welcome our new team member Kayla. Kayla joins us as our new 1st year apprentice. She has Just turned 16, is a local girl who walks to work. As you can see we have started her training right away. Welcome to the family Kayla

06.01.2022 We are expanding! We are looking for a 1st year apprentice ( 30 hrs per week) Aged 15-17 . Would prefer someone with some salon experience who lives locally ( and doesn’t have to rely on parents to get them to work as public transport doesn’t work with our hours) ... We also require a senior stylist to work Saturday’s ( 6 hours to start off - more hours as your client list grows) . You must be fully qualified and have experience in all aspects of hairdressing including men’s hair and be very confident in all aspects of hair colouring. 03.01.2022 We are a busy salon - we love that! We do not employ a receptionist - to keep our prices reasonable. We do not leave our clients to answer the phone - because that’s just rude. The client that’s sitting in the chair is far more important to us than your phone call - sorry not sorry. If we don’t answer your call it’s because we are closed or with another client or we are on the phone.... We call back in the order of the messages received- because that’s fair. If you don’t leave a message we won’t call you back - simple. We don’t take appointment requests via face book or messenger - because a) we don’t have access to our appointment book after we have closed b)we like to be able to check that what we are booking is correct and to do that we like to speak to you c) those people that have called after hours and left a message will get the appointments. If you keep calling and we don’t answer but you don’t leave a message and simply keep calling - it makes us a bit pissed off and it’s extremely annoying for clients in the salon too. We understand that you are busy, we understand that your time is precious, we understand that you need an appointment but please don’t get shitty with us because we are all busy and everyones time is precious. If you call us please leave a message, tell us what service you would like and when you would like to visit. When we call you back we will be right in front of the computer and we can discuss the appointment you would like. If we can book you right in for the service at your preferred time and day we will do this and we will call you back to confirm. Please work with us it’s not that hard!
