12.01.2022 JUST A HAIRDRESSER Yes, I used to be embarrassed when out for dinner and someone would ask me what do I do. Oh, I’d say, I’m just a hairdresser. Believing what some say as a hairdresser has a derogatory belief attached to it etc, and can be seen to be ones who failed at school or the ones that didn’t do well at school but are good with their hands. And also hairdressers don’t work hard, we just chat to people. Well, I’ve decided to let everyone know that as a hairdress...er, I’m proud of my job, and no one should be embarrassed with their work life and skill set!!! Hairdressers come with alot of skills and deserve to be more recognised for that, and our efforts and contribution to our community. We use scissors that are sharp, and use them extremely close to our fingers and peoples heads. We use both maths (measurements and angles) and science (chemicals) every single day for perfect colour mixing, combined with art for detail and beauty. Our work is tiring with standing all day and also stretching and bending over and around our clients bodies, ensuring we are making everyone feel and look beautiful. We use tools everyday that are as hot as an oven, and also use our back and shoulder muscles all day. We get extremely close to our clients, sharing their very special days with them. We work hard both physically and mentally. IM PROUD TO BE A HAIRDRESSER!!!
