25.01.2022 We have had the local Council out to inspect the Hairy Canary and we have their tick of approval and are good to go! Things will be very similar to how we were operating just before lock down in the way that door handles will be wiped down with hospital grade disinfectant after each client enters and exits, hand sanitizer to be used upon entering the salon, longer times between each client to ensure social distancing and sanitization of everything touched//used and every cl...ient will be asked to wear a face mask. A few changes that we have made is removing the couches in the waiting area and replacing them with plants. This is to ensure that clients wait in their cars until I am ready for them to come in. All clients will be sent a Covid-19 screening form that they need to fill in the morning of their appointment. Each form needs to be kept on the premises for 28 days as per government regulations. As you all know that I am a bit OCD with cleanliness so the same high standard will continue. The bad news is we have had a price increase with our hospital grade disinfectant, sanitizer, disposables ect from our supplier so we do have to implement a small price increase for waxing. We have absorbed our waxing increases over the past few years but unfortunately we need to pass it on if we want to continue having waxing on our menu. 24.01.2022 Metro Melbourne beauty salons have been given the green light to open on October the 26th as long as we have an average of 5 cases over 14 days!! This means masks have to be worn at all times in the salon so u fortunately lip and chin waxing will be a no go for the time being. I will be in touch with everyone next week or so who have permanent bookings as you get priority on booking times. 21.01.2022 Sadly like many other businesses in Melbourne we have been put back into lock down for the next 6 weeks. This means no treatments can be done but we are Still open for retail. I am so grateful to have so many supportive clients, friends and family. Your support means the world to me. Its such a frustrating time not only as a small business but my hear breaks for the people who may not be able to see light at the end of the tunnel. 19.01.2022 Things will look little different in the salon when we re open. We have removed all seating in the waiting room. This means if you are running early please wait in your car. This will also mean that you and only you can attend your appointment. I have moved some of my plants in this space so it doesnt look so sterile. When you enter the salon please use the hand sanitizer that is on the table and put on your face mask. We will also have no blankets or bedding so please wear ...warm, comfy clothes or feel free to bring a blankie or dressing gown to put on so you are still snuggly. Same goes for head phones (which are encouraged as you wont be able to talk due to the mask). Each client will have their details recorded with time of entry and exit. 15.01.2022 To anyone that needs to hear this today, YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB. It's a freaking tough gig atm. Parenting, teaching, working/not working. It's definitely not like the first lockdown. It's tough, mentally tough. Our feelings of guilt because we haven't taught our kids enough. Because our kids are feeling anxious and lonely. Its freaking tough. To the breadwinners working their arse off only to come home to a house full of crazy, we applauded you. To the people who live alone and need human contact, I feel for you. To the people who are mentally strong but are feeling the affects of the lockdown, I hear you & I feel it, too. Step outside and take 3 deep breaths in. Don't judge yourself on yesterday, today is a new day. #RUok

We then need to keep this record as per government regulations for 28 days. We have the Covid-19 Action Plan attatched to our front door and will be sent to each client when they book. If you have any symptoms or unwell you MUST cancel. Our normal sansitization procedures will be in place, with all surfaces that have been ...touched wiped down immediately with hospital grade disinfectant. We are currently messaging our clients for bookings. The priority will go to our permanent booking ladies, then our clients who have registered on the list. Unfortunately I can not guarantee that we will be taking on any new clients at this time. Kylie has sadly finished up and we wish her all the best for her next adventure in life. So if you have a thinner/shorter natural lash we can crates a smaller fan so that Natural Lash can get strong and healthy. Strong lashes are happy lashes.....

I'll be going over these over the next few days but I wanted to touch on our new QR Code scan system. Most of you will be familiar with this system but here is a run down for those who aren't. 1)On arrival you will need to scan the QR Code that us on the door. You can do this on your smartphone by scanning the code with your camera or QR scanner app.... 2) Go to the link contained in the QR code. 3)Fill in your details & press submit. Your name and contact details are being collected for the purpose of contact tracing in the event of a suspected Covid-19 case at The Hairy Canary. Your information will not be released to the public or shared with any third party except the government agency responsible to contact people who may have been exposed to Covid-19 or where otherwise required for the purpose of contact tracing. We are so excited to get back work and hopefully life will be back to normal soon. Beauty is essential after all.....

02.01.2022 Hello beautiful Hairy Canary family. I hope everyone is doing ok. Its still such an uncertain time so I just wanted to reach out and let you know that Im still here. Its been 5 months (with a few weeks in between where we were allowed to work) since we were forced shut. After the Premiers announcement yesterday it will be another 2 months, 23rd of Nov if all things are going well, till we can reopen. I do get why we are one of the last to open. The beauty industry is very ...well trained in cross contamination and hygiene ect but the fact is that us therapists work 10cms away from your face for long periods of time. I miss my clients so much, some of you I see more than my friends & family... I miss our chats and know that the time you spend in the salon is "Your time". Time out for yourself away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Time where its all about YOU and not the kids or the stress of everyday life... Please know Im still here if anyone needs a chat, after all its not called "Beauty Therapy" for no reason. Stay strong beautiful people. The sun is shining and there is light at the end of this messed up maze of a tunnel. See more
