25.01.2022 Today Ricky tried something new, we went and collected the naughty calves from next door. He was absolutely wonderful (although I think he was trying to make friends not actually work ) Very proud. Nobody comment on my riding posture
23.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT TIME! You’ve probably seen and maybe even tried some of our delicious honey! But a few of you reached out to try some of our other products. ... We are beyond pleased to say we are now selling our incredible beef mince . We believe in selling our meat being completely paddock to plate and all our mince trails have come back with big thumbs up and a quick more please! Our meat is organic and ethically farmed on 100 acres of grass. If you’d like to have a chat about your unique farming practises and how our meet works, I truely am passionate about the way we farm sustainably and ethically. If you’d like to try mince that is far more than what you’ve ever tasted. Send us a message, you can pick up in Ravenswood or we can work out an arrangement. Some of the comments that came out of our last year of sales: This is the best mince I’ve ever had, the bolognese and meat patties we made were awesome. We won’t be buying anything else! I love that the mince has no water in it! You can tell it’s true paddock to plate Picture of just one of the beautiful hills the cows live on and some of the yummy spaghetti bolognese we’ve made with the mince. $12 for 1kg
20.01.2022 We had a very special birth at Hairy Hill last night. Our very first full white calf!! I cannot wait to get photos of the new calf for everyone to see. In the meantime, here is a photo of Digby!
20.01.2022 The Story of Selling Calves We quite often get asked about selling calves. We do not believe in separating calf and mum unless necessary for mum. Separating the calf can be cruel and unnecessary- especially if separating for human enjoyment. This photo was taken when the highland cows first came to Hairy Hill (before we even had a name). I was 14 at the time and just as passionate about animals. This calf is 24 or Nina and at the time she was about 12 months old, unhandl...ed but very inquisitive as these guys are. I sat patiently in the paddock with my carrot waiting for her to CHOOSE to come up to me. I sat quietly and peacefully. This is the moment she chose to come to me. When we sell our calves we give you the opportunity to grow this relationship on their terms. 24 is now a wonderful mum and the most ridiculously social cow. Through TRUST and RELATIONSHIP I can walk amongst our cows and calves. You can have this too! We have 10-16 month old calves for sale now!
19.01.2022 Do your cows get on with horses? As you can see all our hairy creatures are unbothered by each other. Some of our cows are born without horns and others are. We often recommend polled cows for people with little people who might be actively around the cows, or for people with horses. Our cows aren’t nasty but have a bit of cheekiness and don’t mind letting you know they’re not having a good day with their horns.
18.01.2022 have a good afternoon from Chloe and this little cutie!
18.01.2022 Drum roll please! Introducing our latest calf! Mum is doing a perfect job and the little one is still figuring out which way to go for food Name suggestions?

18.01.2022 Hi to our amazing followers, We wanted to let everyone know that all animals and humans are totally okay after the storm. Very wet and a little cold, but okay. No trees down that we have seen yet which is great but lot of branches for bonfires again soon. Fingers crossed the rest of the week goes so well Also, we still have honey and will be selling creamed honey very soon so message the page for all your honey needs!
16.01.2022 I tried desperately to think of a pun or joke to go with these lambs but it was ewes-less
15.01.2022 Umm I didn’t do it? How can you be mad at a face like this? Even if he broke fences to break into the hay yard When we say to have good fences we aren’t kidding - fences are merely suggestions to these dudes.... I’m fully willing to admit I have a big soft spot for this little man - Chloe
15.01.2022 We love all our animals at Hairy Hill Farm - fluffy cows very much included. In fact, these little guys are where our name came from! This is a little guy was having a bit of a hard start to the world, but thankfully he got to hang out on his own and have some individual feeding. He’s now doing much better!!
14.01.2022 Highland Steer Size Reference! This is our big beautiful boy at Hairy Hill, he’s been with us for a long time now and is a valued member of our herd. As you can see in the second photo, despite his size he will have a little tussle with me grabbing his horns (experienced handler). Excuse my facial expressions, he was being a grump
13.01.2022 We loved receiving feedback on our mince this last week! If you can provide us with feedback it allows us to convey information to other buyers and helps guide our processes. I’ve heard about burgers, lasagna, spaghetti bolognese and chilli con carne. Comment below what you’ve been cooking

10.01.2022 Ronda has clearly decided that instead of eating from their new food bin while standing outside, she’d appreciate the warmth and convenience of the container. We have since only seen her out once
