25.01.2022 The maiden voyage of HLM Tempting Tulip and the Big Red Buggy was a great success. The Boys grinned and wagged their tails at everyone who went past. Tulip will allow us to explore a bit further afield. I will teach some of the more energetic Monsters how to run along side me on the bike, while those with little legs and puppies will get a free ride in the BRB.

24.01.2022 The puppies wore Barney out today, and everyone tried to all fit on my lap at once.

22.01.2022 Everyone was on their best walking behaviour at Mooloolaba. Which was lucky because there were lots of TV cameras recording at the beach.

21.01.2022 Lou Lou joined us for her first daycare day today. She can be a little unsure because she has not been around a lot of other dogs, but she handled her first pack walk like a veteran. And has been wandering around the yard taking in all the smells. Today was also Boos first pack walk. She had her travel box in the buggy so she had somewhere to hide if she wanted, but she jumped around inside and talked to all the dogs. The only time she meowed was when we were stopped, so now I am going to have two of them telling me to go faster!

20.01.2022 We had a big walk around Brightwater Lake this morning which wore everyone out. Home for some relaxing and a nap, then playing in the yard this afternoon.

19.01.2022 Lots of rough and tumble today means tired young ones. Most of the dogs are very similar in age so were trying to build their status higher up the pack ladder.

18.01.2022 Boo is so little that none of the Pet Stores have a harness small enough for her. I made her very own harness today, which is still a bit big even though it is 3/4 of the size of Tiggers harness.

18.01.2022 We were happily playing in the yard when the heavens opened and we had to run for cover. Everyone is now relaxing on mats inside and staying dry.

17.01.2022 Barney is always very patient when we go slow on our walks because of sore joints and little legs, but he lets it rip when we get home.

17.01.2022 With a couple of Covid puppies and dogs needed a confidence boost, we pulled out and had a play with some of the fitness equipment this afternoon. Everyone did amazingly well, some where more confident than others, but everyone had at least 3 full runs on each group of gear. We had different surfaces, elevation, descent, and a balance ball. ... It was also a great exercise for impulse control, while they had to wait for their turn.

17.01.2022 Kittens throw tantrums as well! Boo is contained in her playpen while I cook dinner. This keeps her safe from over enthusiastic dogs, as well as stopping her getting stuck in places that are too small for me to get into, and she is not happy.

14.01.2022 It was a 'Belly rubs in the sunshine' kind of afternoon.

14.01.2022 There were 4 on the bike, and they ALL yelled 'go faster!' Part way through our ride I though we would see how Luna went running beside me. She was awesome! And I think we went a good way to wearing her out.

14.01.2022 I can't say that Brightwater is my favourtist suburb. We have had a busy day, but I had a 'mature' day and forgot my phone, so I'm sorry, but I have no photos of all the Monsters. I promise tomorrow will be a new day.

14.01.2022 Poor little Boo will have her special visor on during our walk tomorrow morning. She spent the day cuddling all the Vet staff after she bounced too close to Tigger and copped a claw to her left eye (you can see the blood spot).

14.01.2022 Our internet is playing up in the wet weather, here is the photo from our big walk yesterday that tired everyone out. It was a beautiful day before the rain set in during the early afternoon.

14.01.2022 We had a lovely walk along the river this afternoon. Lots of sniffing and talking to the Lorikeets.

13.01.2022 The Boys and I have been doing K9 Nosework for a couple years now, and are getting ready for competitions. This morning they correctly identified the scent we have been training for, which is the third scent that gets used in training and trailing. And because they got their third scent, both of them earned their ORT (Odour Recognition Test) Title.... They are smart little cookies. If you are interested in doing Nosework with your Monster, I can give you more info.

13.01.2022 A little hard work never hurt anyone, and it is the same for dogs. Abby has been bypassing her kibble in favour of licking the flavour left in the Boys plates. So tonight I put her kibble into a snuffle mat. Look at her tail going.

13.01.2022 When I arrived for a home visit this afternoon Mr Sniffles was worried I was going to do something bad, but within 10 mins I was deemed safe enough for belly rubs. #sunshinecoastcats #sunshinecoastpetsitter

12.01.2022 Barney has his first lesson to get him used to running beside the bike. No problems there, he paced beside me nicely and responded to changes in speed and direction like he has been doing this forever. I will need to work out a better way to take videos and photos, because riding one handed while videoing is a bit scary.

11.01.2022 Lucy (and Charlee) were keen to talk to Boo today while she had some in the sun and on the grass time. Tigger was just plotting how to get rid of the interloper.

10.01.2022 Welcome to the newest member of the Monster Pack. She is still a little shy, but is quite comfy surveying the dogs from my shoulder. I have been calling her 'Boo', the little girl from Monsters Inc who isn't scared of the Monsters, but I'm not sure if that will stick yet.

10.01.2022 What do you do on a Sunday, the morning after a big party? At Monsters HQ, we still get up before 6 (we slept in until 5.10am), and then I prepared 6 trays of treats for the dehydrator. We have had lots of new people join the Monster family recently, and many of them will be unaware that my Monsters are raw fed and that I make all of the treats we use, so I will put the photo of the raw product in the comments section so you can avoid it if you want. But after 48 hours in the... dehydrator, we will have a bunch of new Bully Sticks. Luna and Gizmo were ever hopeful that I might drop some onto the kitchen floor. I always have lots of helpers/taste testers when I'm making treats.

09.01.2022 It's that time of year! The days are getting longer, the nights are shorter, the dogs are wondering if their beach bodies are ready for summer swimming. AND it's time to pay Council registration.... Puppies (and Boos) under 6 months of age are free. Desexed and microchipped dogs cost $14. Boo is going for her second vaccination next week, and hopefully, will be big enough to be microchipped. My next port of call will be the Council office to register her. Council registration tags are blue in colour and need to be on your dog whenever they leave your home property. Council rangers do check dog walkers to see if their dogs are registered. That means I can be stopped and any dogs that I have that day can be checked. There are fines that can be applied if your dog (or cat) is not registered, or does not have their tag on while in public. Any fines that may be incurred while your dog is in my care will be made out to you, and is your responsibility to pay. There are two sizes of tags - a dog tag and a cat tag. If you have the larger size tag and would like a smaller one, you can exchange the tag at a Council office. Registrations are due by 30th September each year, and are valid for 12 months.

09.01.2022 Everyone was busy sniffing on our walk this afternoon, so the only photos I got were when we were in the car (yes, we were parked)

09.01.2022 When the shortest Monster decides she needs to chase the tallest Monster. Sorry Betty but your legs are too short. #sunshinecoastdogs #sunshinecoastdoggydaycare #sunshinecoastpetsitter

08.01.2022 Lots of chasing and wrestling from the puppies this afternoon. About 5 mins after this video they all collapsed in a heap on the grass.

06.01.2022 I know a couple of you are getting new puppies in the near future. Linda is a great trainer, and doing online puppy preparedness and puppy preschool courses. These are great to get you on the right track with the new Monster. And it makes it easier when your puppy comes here, because I do the same things.

05.01.2022 I love it when the dogs have their 'ah-hah' moment. Their thinking and behaviour changes when they 'get it'. We had 2 of those moments today! Luna had her lightbulb moment when she was walking beside me on a loose lead. She realised that the other dogs weren't getting grumpy with her for tripping them up, she didn't get tangled in the leads and didn't get bumped around. The rest of our walk was calm, relaxed and tangle free.... Lou Lou worked out today that nobody was going to 'kill her and bury her in the sand'. She went from trying to hide under the stoller, to walking confidently with a smile on her face amd a wag in her tail. It continued at home, where for the first time she willingly came out into the yard with the other dogs and engaged in play.

04.01.2022 A nice relaxing end to a big weekend - a walk and picnic along the river. All rugged up because of that lazy wind.

04.01.2022 We're waiting for those cold westerly winds to come in and then we are going inside to relax by the fire. But in the mean time we have helped to get the firewood ready and had a big run around in the yard. Benson and Mabelle are evenly matched on speed, but Benson has the advantage of slinky turns.

03.01.2022 Never too early to start harness training.... even if 2 Boo's could fit in the harness.

03.01.2022 It doesn't matter if they are a puppy or a kitten, or still think they are - everyone loves an adventure playground with a tent, tunnels and wrestling ring.

02.01.2022 I forgot to post this one last night. Mavrick came over for a visit and raced around the yard with everyone.

02.01.2022 I had to drop my Photographer to the bus early this morning, so the dogs, Boo and I had a lovely walk along the boardwalk at Caloundra.

01.01.2022 Pepper is exhausted after a big day playing with all the daycare dogs.

01.01.2022 After watching me successfully walking 7 dogs last week, a lady asked me what were my top 3 behaviours that I would like dogs to have. I had to think for a bit, but came up with 3. 1. A dog that knows and responds to its name.... 2. A dog that comes when it is called. 3. A dog who does not rush through doorways or gates. All 3 of these things are safety issues and could save your dogs life. This video was taken just before last Christmas, and shows that all 3 are possible.
