12.01.2022 Dear Sir/Madam, my name is Hai TRAN. I’m currently the President of (AGRA) Atherton Gardens Residents Association (2011-2020). I’m also a Founder/Chairman of Ya...rra Community Angel Foods Inc (2010-2020). MY COMMUNITY SERVICE: - Advocating for all types of matters, including fighting for homeless families to move into permanent long-term public housing accommodation. - Giving free fruit and vegetables to people in need twice a week, even on Christmas and public holidays. - Helping people experiencing financial hardship pay off parking fines and electricity bills, and also referring people to other agencies so they can receive assistance. - Giving free bicycles and Christmas toys to children. - Organising snow trips to Mount Buller. - Holding many festivals and events within the community. I have lived in the City of Yarra with my wife and four children since 2000 (20 years). I call the City of Yarra my home and understand how the area has changed. I am committed to tackling the issues impacting our community and will only do things that will benefit our residents. With your vote, I will fight for: greater public measures, protecting our open spaces, playgrounds and parks, lowering the cost of childcare, creating affordable housing to reduce homelessness, getting for funding for community services, and providing financial support options for lower income families and senior citizens. I will support small businesses, local shops, cafes and, restaurants. I am a good listener, I will engage with communities, and I will work collaboratively with my fellow councillors and ensure good governance.
