19.01.2022 30th December 2020 Dear Resident, Family and Friends, I am writing to provide another update for Hakea Grove in relation to COVID-19. With an updated advice and direction now provided by NSW Health last night; Until at least 11:59pm Wednesday 6th Jan, all residential aged care facilities in Greater Sydney (including the Central Coast) must exclude visitors, other than for exceptional circumstances ( for example end of life or essential care functions).... As such Hakea Grove will be closed to visitors until at least Thursday 7th January. Visitors who we deem as essential will be contacted individually within the next 24 hours. All other visits currently scheduled will be cancelled until at least 7th January 2021. All staff (and visitors) must continue to wear a mask whilst on site. If a resident leaves the facility, they will be required to self-isolate for 14 days within their room upon their return. We strongly advise against any residents leaving the facility. Exceptions apply for urgent medical appointments. If you had made arrangements to take your loved one out of the facility, we suggest to defer that for the time being. No elders at risk should be moving about within our community if it can be avoided. We are aware there are now at least three confirmed COVID active community cases within the Central Coast Community, and that there have been other persons who have tested positive whom have also visited our region. Please remember that video chats and phone calls remain an option. Please contact us to book a video chat if your loved one requires assistance with that.
