23.01.2022 Dear Students/Parents, We are back on the Mats from Monday 15th June 2020, but you can expect things to be a little different. At Haktari Taekwondo Academy (HTA) our biggest priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our members, their families, and our instructors.... We are proactively taking additional measures to ensure that HTA remains a safe place to train for students & Instructors. We will be operating on a modified timetable. Some classes will have to finish early in order with the current COVID-19, There will be a 15-minute change over period enabling time for disinfecting & cleaning between classes. Classes are capped at 20 people. We ask that you please keep the following in mind to help in prevention: - If you are unwell or have any cold or flu like symptoms or have been in contact with someone who is sick, please DO NOT come to class. - Please drop off and pick up students at required times. - We ask that parents, careers and siblings wait outside the centre. - Sanitizer is to be used on entry of the centre. (We have 2 hand sanitiser stations in our centre) - Your temperature will be checked on arrival, if your temperature is 38 Degrees or higher you will be asked to go and get checked out by your doctor. - Please always keep 1.5 metre distance from others, avoid hand shaking and physical greetings. - Time spent in the centre is to be minimised by coming prepared for training and leaving as soon as practicable after your class/training session. - Please be dressed in full uniform before arriving at the centre. - No equipment is to be shared. - Bring and use your own equipment gloves, sweat towel etc., and ensure all belongings are taken with you when you leave. - Ensure to maintain proper hygiene practices. I have done the Covid Safe Martial Arts Instructor course in readiness & our training facility is and will be maintained at a high level of cleanliness & frequent disinfecting of all touch points between classes will be observed for the safety of all our students. People always asked "Why do you pay so much money for your kids to do all their sports? Well I have a confession to make; I don't pay for my kids to to do sports. Personally, I couldn't care less about what sport they do. So, if I am not paying for sports what am I paying for? - I pay for those moments when my kids become so tired they want to quit but don't. - I pay for those days when my kids come home from school and are "too tired" to go to their training but they go anyway. - I pay for my kids to learn to be disciplined, focused and dedicated. - I pay for my kids to learn to take care of their body and learn how to correctly fuel their body for success. - I pay for my kids to learn to work with others and to be good team mates, gracious in defeat and humble in success. - I pay for my kids to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don't get that placing or title they'd hoped for, but still they go back week after week giving it their best shot. - I pay for my kids to learn to make and accomplish goals. - I pay for my kids to respect, not only themselves, but others, officials, judges and coaches. - I pay for my kids to learn that it takes hours and hours, years and years of hard work and practice to create a champion and that success does not happen overnight. - I pay for my kids to be proud of small achievements, and to work towards long term goals. - I pay for the opportunity my kids have and will have to make life-long friendships, create lifelong memories, to be as proud of their achievements as I am. - I pay so that my kids can be in the gym instead of in front of a screen... - I pay for those rides home where we make precious memories talking about practice, both good and bad. -I pay so that my child can learn the importance of time management and balancing what is important like school and keeping grades up ...I could go on but, to be short, I don't pay for sports; I pay for the opportunities that sports provides my kids with to develop attributes that will serve them well throughout their lives and give them the opportunity to bless the lives of others. From what I have seen so far I think it is a great investment!"

01.01.2022 Seen so many closed doors today.. While so many others struggle to keep their doors open following all the guidelines & protocols put before them by government..... At the same time state governments have been inconsistent & uninspiring leaders for the vast majority... Many are well within their rights to ask why not us? "experts" & state governments have lost our trust & confidence #holdon #dontgiveup #1dayatatime #wedowhatwecan See more

01.01.2022 This week we held our last gradings for 2020 I am very proud of all my students efforts though out this difficult year. Before last nights grading I heard the sad news of Master George Thomas passing away, so I took the moment to explain to the young practitioners that Master George Thomas was a pioneer in the early stages of NSW and Australian Taekwondo before we held a minutes silence R.I.P Master George Thomas
