25.01.2022 New workers quarters looking great

23.01.2022 Planet barley has enjoyed the long awaited rain. What row spacing?

23.01.2022 Anyone who says fuel reduction doesn't slow down a fire needs to go out there when its all happening and see for themself. This old growth bush went ballistic within seconds of lighting the backburn. The heat even at this distance was unbelievable.

23.01.2022 Our new workers palace is now quickly arising out of the canola paddock. Angus got here early, so he has to build himself a bedroom before he's allowed to sleep. Excited about the passive solar design, the dark concrete floor is warming up nicely in the sunshine

21.01.2022 In house illustration No1 for our on-farm safety induction

21.01.2022 Was a big community assault on the fire north of us on the weekend to rein it in. Managed to blister the nice stickers off the side of our BFB truck with some slightly hair raising moments in the thick of it all. 10mm yesterday though capped it off nicely. The first pic may have been my spag bol getting a bit overdone in the 12V oven

19.01.2022 4 headers, 3 chaser bins and a small army of people to make it all happen. The excitement starts in October. Seeking our 2020 gun crew now. Don't be shy

17.01.2022 Can't wait to pull the big iPaddock Alphadisc 24m out of the shed again ready for seeding shortly! Here's a clip from 2020, taken on the first full day of use after our team's mammoth effort getting it together and rolling. We are still recruiting here for a second full time senior farmhand, and one of the first jobs will be smashing in some crop with this big fella. Depending how we go we could be looking for a casual operator, if you are interested get in touch #seedingjobs... For those of you who might not know, iPaddock is our other business (as if farming doesn't give us enough to think about), and there is still stock of the Alphadisc 2.0 units for 2021 if you are quick and wanting to make the change. Hope you enjoy the video. I find it a strange mix of relaxing - and adrenaline causing! Sad reality of having these farming genes.

17.01.2022 Desperate measures for desperate times- again! Seems swathing is the new norm to dry down wheat on our high rainfall country. I hate doing it, but we want to finish . Hopefully with a bit of sun harvest will not take too much longer

16.01.2022 Enjoyed the Claas demo yesterday, that thing really moves

15.01.2022 Flashback from season 2014...

10.01.2022 Its been nearly 10 years in the making, but the iPaddock 24m x 7.4" #Alphadisc has finally put steel against soil this afternoon. A very exciting moment! Anything could have happened, but so far so good! Looking forward to smashing out some Ha with it to finish off our program next week

10.01.2022 Birthday time for these ladies

10.01.2022 Good to strike a blow for #harvest19 (Cracking photo from Gus)

09.01.2022 We are selling our 60 foot Alphadisc adapted John Deere 1890 now that our 80' Alphadisc "beast" was unleashed in 2020! Its in great condition and has been the ideal disc seeder for our farming system. We ran it alongside an 1820 hoe drill using stilettos in 2017 and there was no difference between the crops with either machine, but we can sow at 14kph and don't have to worry about stubble with this one!

09.01.2022 Fight fire with fire. Plus a bit of help from above

09.01.2022 The new quarters - getting there!

09.01.2022 Its good to finally have my new model Typhoon feed drum and Twister chain tensioner in the market now. Maybe I can do some farm work again! Looking forward to giving them another workout here this harvest.

09.01.2022 Looking to sell our Jurien lupins off the header, hope to be harvesting them this week. Spotlessly clean, no snails, had a Mn spray. Around 500t to sell, $380/t if you can take and pay for them as we harvest. We can arrange freight.

06.01.2022 Compare the previous post on this page, to this photo from an hour previous when we were burning out a fire break on 13 year old fire scar regrowth. The wind was blowing towards unburnt bush yet it was quite manageable. This gave us a text book firebreak. Strategic hazard reduction burning is an absolute no brainer, in our environment at least. Full credit to the volunteer command and DFES staff who planned and executed Sunday's assault for a supremely well organised and executed operation.

05.01.2022 Topping up the N, now August has been kinder than July.

05.01.2022 #today at Halcyon Downs

05.01.2022 Halcyon harvest 2019. Hybrid TT canola coming in before the rain.

02.01.2022 The beautiful Woody Island over the weekend. A must stay destination for anyone coming to Esperance
