25.01.2022 Breaking news! The combined Year 10 Hale and St Mary's Anglican Girls' School team that made it through to the Shark Tank National Finals has won their category! The team developed an app, named Forage, as a restaurant locater for people with specific dietary requirements. 25.01.2022 While interstate and international tours may be on hold, our 1st XI cricketers, accompanied by their coach Geoff ‘Swampy’ Marsh, spent the last three days in Bunbury preparing for the second half of the Darlot Cup season. Hale won all three games they played against a regional South West U/18 squad and even enjoyed some success on their crabbing adventure. Shannon performed Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.1 on the Perth Concert Hall stage last night with the UWA Conservatorium of Music Orchestra. 20.01.2022 Yesterday brought closure to what was a unique PSA winter sport season. It had a bit of everything; a pandemic delay, dramatic victories, tough losses, a few premierships, new indigenous jerseys and an extended finish line. Above all else we are thankful that sport has been able to be a part of our boys lives in 2020 when so many around the country and the world have not had these opportunities. 19.01.2022 The Year 12s finished their year off in style last week with their Graduation celebrations and Valedictory Assembly an emotional time for all. The Year 12s reflected on their time at Hale and were treated to a variety of musical performances, reflections and prayers at significant landmarks around the School’s campus. The whole school then gathered on Craig Oval to farewell the Year 12 cohort with the traditional guard of honour and Viking Clap. The Ceremonies were followed by lots of fun at the Year 12 Activity afternoon with boys dressing up in a range of creative kits, having a go on the slip and slide, and throwing themselves around in inflatable balls with Perth Bubble Soccer. It was a fun end to a very busy week for the Year 12s and we wish them all the best on their upcoming exams and for the future.

17.01.2022 Over the past three days, Hale School has hosted the United Nations' Global Goals Challenge. Fifty Year 10 students from Hale, St Mary's Anglican Girls' School, Sacred Heart College, Sorrento, WA, Mater Dei College, Edgewater, WA and Duncraig Senior High School came together in groups to come up with ideas to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and solve some of the world's biggest problems. 17.01.2022 Saturday marks the half way mark of the PSA summer sport competitions. In what is a rare event, our 1st basketball (9.00am) and 1sts volleyball (11.00am) will play in a double header at Aquinas College on Saturday. The fixture pits two undefeated volleyball teams and two of the top three basketball teams. Our 1sts cricket and tennis will also be at Aquinas while our 1sts water polo will be at Hale with our boat shed competing in the Trinity Regatta at East Perth. 16.01.2022 HALE HISTORY As the Memorial Hall was being built 60 years ago at the then-new Wembley Downs campus, the Junior School boys had a competition each morning to see who could amass the largest pile of sand in 15 minutes! The Hall was completed and officially opened in February 1962 and landscaping replaced the enormous sand pit. #haleschool #oldhale #history #60years

15.01.2022 Today we said farewell to the class of 2020 with an emotional Valedictory Assembly in the Quad. What better way to say goodbye to our Year 12 students and commemorate their journey, than to celebrate together with family and friends on such a glorious day! Speeches by the students and staff were sure to bring tears to both students, staff, and family alike. We wish the class of 2020 all the best on their step into the future and hope to see them soon again.

15.01.2022 The athletics team did the school proud this afternoon at the PSA carnival. The boys finished in third place behind Scotch (1st) and Aquinas (2nd). There were plenty of fantastic performances amongst the team but none more so than Year 10 student Reilly Cunningham who was involved in breaking a remarkable 4 PSA records (U17 long jump, triple jump, 200m and the 4x100 relay). The other Hale star of the day was fellow Year 10 student Alex Perin who won 3 division 1 events and came second in another. There were plenty of other wins and personal bests across all age groups. This marks the last event of the sporting calendar and as such we farewell and say thank you to the Year 12 cohort who have contributed so much to so many sports. #bleedblue

Book Week in the Junior School saw a fantastic opportunity for the boys to celebrate characters from their favourite books by dressing up. Fitting in with the theme Curious Creatures, Wild Minds we saw lots of literacy characters come to life. Boys for all year levels came to together to share their favourite stories and celebrate the wonderful pleasures reading together brings.

His story will be featured on SBS Australia show Every Family has a Secret on September 29. 03.01.2022 In our first two weeks back at school, there are plenty of events on the calendar. We had the soapbox construction and derby over the weekend. We thank Mr O’Garr from the Senior School and the many volunteers for organising and assisting in the running of this event. 02.01.2022 Local Indigenous artist Justin Martin spent some time with the boys from Years 4 to 6 who chose to continue their local Indigenous project. Justin took them on a bush walk and spoke about the importance of different species of animals and plants, the four different skin groups of the local Whadjuk people, and told a number of Noongar Dreamtime stories. He also explained symbols used in artwork and showed the boys how to do their own Aboriginal-inspired paintings. #HaleSchool #Creativity #Findyourfrontier

01.01.2022 Today we said hello to a brand-new group of future Haleians. Next years Year 7 students had their Orientation Day today where the boys had a great opportunity to build connections with their future classmates and teachers. The boys experienced a tour of the School, had a Q and A with some of the student leaders of Middle School and participated in a range of fun activities in preparation for their start to Hale life next year. The day culminated in the boys enjoying a science and technology challenge where their task was to make a paper car that could withstand an artificial crash run by the teachers.
