24.01.2022 The ATO has launched a new text message alert service from February 2020 for SMSF trustees. We have received alerts from clients receiving text messages from the ATO advising them of changes made to their SMSF accounts. Naturally, its easy for you to assume that these texts are scams however emails purported to be from ATO with similar notifications followed. These messages and emails are legitimate and real and not scams.The most common reason the text message or emai...l has been triggered is due to a change of details as part of the lodgement of the SMSFs annual return.
