25.01.2022 Yesterday, the Years 6 & 7 Boys Soccer Statewide Finals were held at the VALO Football Centre. A great day accompanied by fantastic spring weather and team work.

24.01.2022 The Year 11 Certificate III Music (Performance) students have been working hard this year, and would like to treat the community to a performance, showcasing their abilities. In spite of the challenges posed by COVID, these talented students kept performing to audiences via social media, and have succeeded in all parts of their assessments.

24.01.2022 Ms Davis Year 12 Chemistry students today completed their final practical. They were determining the energy output of different fuels. Good luck for the practical report Year 12s!

20.01.2022 Mr Wade's Year 11 Outdoor Education class travelled to Kangaroo Island this week. They've had a great 2 days so far exploring new places and supporting local businesses! Students have toured Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, Little Sahara - where they spent hours sandboarding. They have also visited Cliffords Honey farm and driven through Flinders Chase National Park. The locals have been very inviting and have appreciated us coming over to visit.

18.01.2022 Miss O'Shea's Year 12 Legal class today completed their final in-class assessment, which was a House of Representative reading & debate on the Australian justice system. The topic was whether Australia should keep the adversarial system or adopt the inquisitorial system of trial.

18.01.2022 Hallett Cove School Christmas Hamper Drive 2020. We know that Christmas can be a tough time for some families within our school community, who could use a pep up this Christmas. Please help us bring a smile to their Christmas! We are looking for donations of non-perishable, food items, toiletries, or small gifts etc.... Donations will be boxed up in the last weeks of school and deliveries will take place in the last few days of term. Last day for donations is the 4th December. If you can by any means help, any donations can be placed under the Christmas Tree in Junior School Student Services reception area. Thank you in advance for any help you might be willing to provide families within our school community.

18.01.2022 Good News for our 2021 new families. Hallett Cove School have received an update from the Department for Education at midday today. They have stated that the following are considered essential and can continue providing all details of those entering school grounds are recorded for contact tracing purposes:... facilities management and building contractors pre-service teachers and TAFE students student support services (wellbeing and allied health professions) transition visits. This means that transition visits can now go ahead at this stage. We look forward to greeting our 2021 students and welcoming them to a transition visit. Students who are new to the school, and who will be in Years 1 7 in 2021 are invited to meet in the pergola area (behind the Administration building) at 8:45am on Monday Week 9 (December 7th). Students will be joining their classes from 9am until 10:30am. Parents can collect students back at 10:35am at the front office. Students who are enrolling in Year 8 in 2021 One full day transition will occur on Friday of Week 8 (December 4th). Please meet at the Gledsdale Road drop off area at 8:30am, and you will be escorted to the Gym where there will be a Year 8 Assembly. Parents can collect students back at 3:10pm, at the Gledsdale Road drop off area. Students enrolling in Year 9 or 10 in 2021 Transition will occur over two full days, on Monday and Tuesday of Week 9 (December 7th & 8th). New students are to meet at the Front Office 8:30am, where you will be escorted to a Year Level Assembly. Parents can collect students back at the Front Office at 3:10pm, or at the Gledsdale Road drop off area.

18.01.2022 - , : Today the Premier announced a 6 day statewide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) t...hrough to midnight Tuesday 24 November. Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school, preschool or childcare. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. All students have been asked to take home school laptops, devices, books and anything they need to continue their learning from home. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week.

16.01.2022 Due to the recent COVID outbreak, the Adelaide Zoo has unfortunately cancelled ZooSnooze sleepovers for the Junior School for this week, and Week 6. This includes the cancellation of today’s ZooSnooze for Miss Lewis’ and Ms Kate's Year 2 class. This also includes Ms Woodrow's Year 2 class next week.... Thank you for your understanding.

14.01.2022 Year 10's will be provided the opportunity in 2021 to study Sustainable Hair & Beauty as an elective. The course will focus on industry skills, ethics and environmental impacts of the beauty industry and deliver a truly engaging curriculum.

14.01.2022 Tomorrow Hallett Cove School is encouraging High School students to wear purple in recognition of Wear It Purple Day. The day is aimed at raising awareness and positive conversation to promote inclusion, and support the wellbeing of the LGBTIQ+ community.

14.01.2022 Over the past three days, Hallett Cove School had 14 volleyball teams, across Years 8-12, represent the school in the SA Volleyball Schools Cup. Congratulations to the Year 12 boys and Year 9 Boys Team 1 for coming away with gold medals. Well done to the Year 10 Girls Team 1, finishing with a silver, whilst the bronze went to the Year 9 Girls Team 1.

11.01.2022 Our FIRST LEGO League team The Usain-Bots competed in the SA Regional Final 1 on Sunday 8 November at Pultney Grammar School. We’re happy to say that Hallett Cove School have come away with very positive results! We won the ‘Innovation Project Award’ for our solution to help teenagers lead more active lives. The students surveyed their peers, and developed a very creative solution to incorporate electronic devices into physical activity. The team included a QR Code on ...their prototype and impressed the judges when it took them to a custom website when they scanned it with their mobile phones. We also scored 5th highest out of 16 teams in the Robotics Challenge. The scores for our Judging session, Innovation Project and the results from the Robotics Challenge were combined and we are one of 5 teams from the day who are progressing to the National Championship (Date still TBA).

11.01.2022 Hallett Cove School Parent Teacher interviews are tomorrow, Wednesday 16th September. Thank you to everyone who has booked via SOBS for either a phone booking or a face-face appointment. Teaching staff will be based in the Resource Centre. There will be a map for parents/caregivers as you enter the room to indicate which table the staff will be seated at. The time slots are rigid with a timer indicating the end of the 10 minute slot so that the evening runs smoothly.... If parents/guardians have booked a phone conversation, please answer your phone when the staff member calls you this may come through as No Caller ID as some staff will be using their personal devices to make these calls. If you miss your phone appointment, staff may not be able to ring again due to other bookings. Please make arrangements for another day if required. Thank you for your support.

09.01.2022 Mr Wade's Year 11 Outdoor Education class have been on camp to the Limestone Coast this week, camping in the beautiful Canunda National Park. Besides cooking in the rain, everyone's having a good time! Today they drove into Rendelsham, to Noorla Yo Long campsite, where policeman Geoff and his crew had prepared team building activities, and spoke about risk taking.

06.01.2022 On Friday 24 August, the Year 8 cohort engaged in a Slam Poetry Competition. Students were asked to write a poem about an issue that they were passionate about. Some students then performed their poems in front of their peers. 02.01.2022 2021 will provide Year 9's with more elective choices than ever. One example is Journalism, an exciting opportunity to build students literacy skills leading into their Senior English studies.

02.01.2022 Marion Council met with Student Voice Representatives today to consult with and to allow them to provide ideas into the Capella Drive Reserve upgrade in Hallett Cove. A seperate action group of keen skate boarders from the Middle School years provided voice to consult on the skatepark upgrade specifically, by working with Convic Skate Park Designers. They are very much looking forward to seeing their ideas come to life!

02.01.2022 This week Hallett Cove School would like to acknowledge the effort and work undertaken by our School Service Officers (SSOs). On a daily basis they do a wonderful job supporting the administration and smooth operation of our school, as well as providing valuable support for students and their learning within and outside of the classroom environments. We would like to say thank you to our wonderful team of dedicated SSOs and remind them how much we appreciate all that they do.

02.01.2022 Hallett Cove School will be celebrating Book Week in Week 2, of Term 4. On Friday the 23rd of October, students and staff are encouraged to dress up as either their favorite book character, or follow this years theme of 'Curious Creatures Wild Minds' and dress up as a curious creature.
