15.01.2022 To our valued clients As the global COVID-19 pandemic continues to progress, we would like to assure our valued clients and community members that we remain open and continue to operate as normal, until otherwise advised, with a few key modifications. We respectfully request that if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, have recently travelled overseas, have been exposed to anybody diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19, or are in one of the ‘at risk’ categories (eg immu...nosuppressed), that you refrain from attending the practice. Eye test appointments for affected patients can be rescheduled to a later date. In an attempt to reduce the spread of infection, we have increased the implemented additional cleaning and disinfecting procedures in the practice (including increased hand washing, hand sanitizer available at set stations, disinfecting equipment, chairs, benches & frames), removed reading material and toys from our waiting area, have instituted a no-handshake policy, have spaced the waiting room chairs to allow for social distancing, request that only the person having an eye test (and one carer, where required) attend the practice, and respectfully request that preferred payment is non-contact (eg PayWave). If you require urgent eye care and are unable to attend the practice for any of the above reasons, please contact the Maryborough or Hervey Bay Base Hospital’s emergency department. During this rapidly evolving situation, we urge everyone to follow the advice provided by the Department of Health - https://www.health.gov.au//novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-hea As many of you may be aware, one of our optometrists (Tony Fraser) is currently overseas. Please be assured that on his return, he will be self-isolating for the recommended two week period (or as per any additional requirements recommended). As such, we are extremely heavily booked and are attempting to re-book Tony's patients as best we can. Thank you for your understanding.

04.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Optometry Australia has advised that the Department of Health & Allied Health have indicated that optometrists have to limit themselves to only seeing URGENT cases in order to limit the risk of infection during the current COVID-19 situation & unnecessarily exposing our team & our patients to potential infection. The practice front door will be locked & will only open to booked emergency patients.... If you require an emergency appointment, please call the practice on 41234477 & leave a message. We will call you back & triage you over the phone & book those patients in that meet our restricted criteria. We thank you immensely for your continued support & understanding during these very unusual times.

01.01.2022 Well... we had some unscheduled renovations at the practice over the weekend. Not a great start to a Sunday morning, but grateful that it wasn’t worse. Many thanks to the police officers who attended & to Dean Wright for helping board up the vandalised window. If nothing else, it gave us a chance to meet a few more of the great business owners on Adelaide Street.
