20.01.2022 Whilst we may not be able to open to the public at the moment. But in the mean time a number of our members have taken the opportunity to work on some projects such as new gardens beds and new signals on the east loop. We look forward for the day when we can have you on our trains again.

19.01.2022 Today i installed the signal heads to the other end of our east loop, now just need to wire them up to our signal box.

19.01.2022 The HMRG is pleased to announce that will be reopening next weekend on the 6th of December. We have been busy over the last few weeks and months putting new gardens, figurines. And a brand new mural by Roger Edwards on the side of our clubrooms. Today we also had Neil Sanders from Warranambool visit with his NA puffing billy engine for a test run. So we look forward to having you back on the trains next weekend

Unable to open to the public since March, the team at the Hamilton Miniature Railway Group ...are excited to announce that they will be reopening to the public this weekend on Sunday the 6th of December! Keeping busy over the last few months, the team at the Hamilton Miniature Railway Group have put together new gardens and figurines for visitors to enjoy, with a brand-new mural on the clubrooms! It’s all full steam ahead as they prepare to welcome everyone back on the miniature railway track, a unique attraction to the museum and a guaranteed hit with children and adults alike! As an experience enjoyed by all, be sure not to miss out on a day of celebration and joy as we ride the rails through COVID calamity. 18.01.2022 Well, Richie has been out shopping again and has brought himself a little project an uncompleted model of a 280HP walker rail motor from Elmore Miniature Railway this is the uncompleted sister unit of the one that is currently operating at Elmore. This also represents a bit of local rail history as full-size trains of this type used to run through Hamilton between Ararat and Portland back in the day.

15.01.2022 The Hamilton Model Railway Group are preparing to open to the public next Sunday in a Covid safe manner. Today there was a little unveiling of a beautiful new m...ural of a J class on their clubroom wall. To help with the launch, Neil, a great supporter of the Warrnambool Model railway Exhibition each year, had his magnificent Na loco cutting a few laps of the very nice Hamilton track. A visit to the club, their display in the club rooms and a ride of their miniature railway is well recommended. Good luck with your re-opening from all at WMRC. See more

13.01.2022 A major milestone for Richard's 280 walker rail motor yesterday as it had its first test run on the track. This has been a labour of love for Richie to finish off a project that the late Barry Mitchell from the Elmore Miniature Railway started.

Unfortunately we missed out on the second carriage but with the money raised we plan to build a second one to the same design. Once again we look forward to having you all back on the trains as soon as it's safe and restrictions allow us to do so.
