11.01.2022 Hamilton Blackstone Lawyers attended the Financial Planning Association (FPA) Western Chapter sessions in Dubbo and Orange this week to discuss critical estate planning issues affecting financial planners. The sessions were very well received, and planners found the content very thought-provoking. The sessions highlighted the need for quality estate planning services, and the importance of aligning the delivery of financial planning and estate planning for clients. At the end... of the day, theyre not mutually exclusive. Our thanks to Peter Roan, FPA Western Chapter Chair, and Principal of Roan Financial Group, for his invitation and hospitality. Were looking forward to working closely with the FPA to deliver awareness on this critical area and to highlight the importance of quality estate planning, where both planners and solicitors work together to achieve the clients needs.

04.01.2022 As evidenced in Radford v White, a Will is one of the most important documents you will make in your lifetime. Having no Will, or a poorly drafted Will, can have serious financial and emotional consequences for those who are left behind. The perception that a Will is simply about needing to provide for a spouse and young or dependent children no longer holds true. There may be other people who would be eligible to make a claim if the Will does not adequately provide for them,... including adult children. This can be even more complicated if people have re-partnered and have younger children or stepchildren as well. At Hamilton Blackstone Lawyers, every document we prepare is the product of a carefully considered consultation process, where we invest the time to identify your needs and understand your requirements. We promise to get you thinking about things you hadnt considered previously. While a videorecording was sufficient in these circumstances, we encourage you to book an appointment with Hamilton Blackstone Lawyers to review your current estate plan.
