22.01.2022 I dont have a picture of Steven Wilkinson when he won the De Grandi Award back in 1988. But I do have one of the trophy he received. If you have any photos of previous winners I would like to get copies if i could. Don't forget to let Mark McLaren know if you are coming to the dinner for catering purposes.

10.01.2022 Commencement of club racing At Monday's club meeting the committee decided to return to club racing on Saturday the 15th of August for a block of approximately 7 weeks culminating with the Club Championships on the 26th of September. This will be subject to permit approval from CV, State Planning and SGSC. A short break will follow with the summer series starting on Thursday nights from October the 8th onwards.... A Social Club ride has been earmarked for the 1st of August. 10.01.2022 With Stage3 COVID 19 Sporting Restrictions in the Metropolitan Melbourne & Shire of Mitchell for 6 weeks it has also been introduced for the rest of Victoria fr...om the Chief Health Officer to halt resumption of full-contact competition(including cycling)for people aged 19 or over in regional Victoria. Under 18 events outside of the Metropolitan & Mitchell Shire, full training & competition can continue. This has meant the Bendigo & District Cycling Club cannot proceed with the Bridgwater-Water Wheel Classic on Sunday 26th July & other club classics in this 6 week block. It will also effect the Rob Vernon Memorial open in mid August but the Club will work with Vic Cycling for a later date in the year. See more

01.01.2022 Port Campbell to Warrnambool (& some M2W) Drizzly conditions with a slight tail cross wind made for fast times across all handicap groups at the inaugural Port Campbell to Warrnambool. A 100+ field covered the 76k distance with 33 minutes separating limit from scratch. Not one group caught another over the length of the race with limit taking the honours at a pace of around 38.5kph and fastest time from scratch averaging roughly 46kph. In fact all handicaps could have been tw...o thirds of what they were and groups still probably wouldn’t have caught each other. Hamilton (and past) rider results: Rohan Garfoot (14min) 17th 1:46.04 +6.21 (43kph) Jason Kennett (10min) 35th 1:44.27 +8.44 (43.6kph) Scott Kruger (10min) 38th 1:44.45 +9.02 (43.5kph) Chris Eichler (10min) 39th 1:44.50 +9.07 (43.5kph) Callum Mirtschin (scratch) 79th 1:39.05 +13.22 (46kph) Chris Kennett (scratch) 79th 1:43.32 +17.49 (44kph) Although riding for Geelong CC now, Tynan Shannon also rode brilliantly to finish his first Melbourne to Warrnambool in the bunch just 26 minutes back in 98th place. Tynan placed 4th in B Grade. Photocredit to Bridgette Garfoot Photography (& Merrin Carlin, Shane Kennett) Well done to all riders yesterday.
