23.01.2022 It's a very sad day today as 2 major players in Australian travel, Infinity Holidays and STA Travel, have filed for insolvency :( I met almost all of you during my time at STA Travel and they will always have a special place in my heart! Sadly this COVID situation is taking down more and more of our industry every week which is all the more reason if not now, then definitely when things open up, to support us agents when you start travelling again!... I feel like we are slowly coming through the other end so let's stay strong! 14.01.2022 Happy World Tourism Day!!! While we aren't travelling I think it's important to acknowledge that we took our ability to travel and explore for granted! Coming out of this I feel a better appreciation not just to be able to move but to really take in the destinations I'm visiting!... With Australian borders now almost all open and the NZ bubble to come to fruition by end of year things are finally looking up! 07.01.2022 The last week has been so special with a much needed getaway to Byron Bay!! :) The Elements of Byron was where we rested our heads and this resort is placed only just out of town, on the beach, and surrounded by lush forests. Yoga and breakfast in the morning, then walking through all the rainforest trails around the resort was a great way to unwind and forget all our stresses!... I thought the storms that were in the area would have ruined the weekend but they brought with them this amazingly ethereal atmosphere, especially in the evenings; perfect for Netflix and Ice-cream lol When the weather did clear up there was much exploring from Farmer's Markets all over the area to the famous Cape Byron Lighthouse and even an afternoon of kayaking to mingle with dolphins and turtles in the bay! Then of course all the amazing foods! The time passed way too quickly but now we’re all the more ready for the next adventure! Guys, if you're overseas and struggling to get home, or you're at home and struggling to get away, reach out via email or DM and I'll do my best to help! The past few months I've been so caught up in helping stranded Australians get home as well as current clients with the refunds and credits on existing bookings that sometimes, a little self care is important! 05.01.2022 Some fantastic news today with the annoucement that Bain Capital, the new owners of Virgin Australia, will be honouring all travel credits and Velocity membership points! Booking dates will be extended to July 2022 with travel permissible up to July 2023! I'll be contacting all those affected by the recent administration of Virgin and of course COVID travel restrictions, to run through your individual circumstances :)... Sadly this transition will see the loss of 3000 jobs and the end of Tiger Airways. My heartfelt gratitude and well wishes for all my friends and family within the Virgin Group!
